Hailing from South Africa, if you mean you still live there than you can appreciate the need for citizens to be able to defend themselves. If you no longer live there than you are a spectator like the rest of us. One way or the other I reckon South Africa is not a safe place to live.

Doing the math I figure that if the twenty thousand dead were infidels the Syrians would call it just and proper victory for Allah. If they were Muslims the Syrians would call it wanton murder at the hands of Zionists.

I'll go with what Yank III said.chasmatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14962911972107586613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-34013178625293081452013-09-24T18:11:23.399+01:002013-09-24T18:11:23.399+01:00'More Americans lost their lives from firearms...'More Americans lost their lives from firearms in the past 45 years than in all wars involving the US.' Yes or no? (FYI I hail from South Africa, a country that has seen on average 20,000 people a year die from gun violence since 1994. These range at millions YEARLY! DGU saves LIVES!!!

Hell, even the Brady Foundation - that paragon of gun rights that we all fondly rely upon - admits to there being at around 135,000 DGU's per year - which is almost FOUR times more lives SAVED then lost to whatever reason via gun use.

We need to reDEFINE the playing field - STOP playing by the left's definitions, which is to say by their RULES. We all know that they never admit what we have, they just simply shut up, stop talking about it, or change the subject... unless they can't.

And they can't change the subject when we on the right make a VISCERAL statement... and what is more in your face than SAVING LIVES!!!???

GUNS SAVE LIVES! More lives of innocents are saved by someone with a gun than are lost in any way the left defines!

And yes, I realize it's childish to use the CAPS, but heck, I'm at an age where I really don't give a hoot what others think, and wanted to emphasize my point.

God Bless, Stormbringer - and to all fellow Patriots - LIBERTAD!!!!!

Jacksonian Grouch/Retired CoastieJacksonian Grouchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04210166545725754741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-68441890632186916882013-09-23T09:30:21.744+01:002013-09-23T09:30:21.744+01:00The Guardian “Newspaper” Is a left wing propaganda...The Guardian “Newspaper” Is a left wing propaganda rag that has a tiny readership, please be assured that it does not represent the views of the British public.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-5422475531244644972013-09-22T22:34:46.154+01:002013-09-22T22:34:46.154+01:00Reblogged on: http://daksbays.wordpress.com/2013/...Reblogged on: http://daksbays.wordpress.com/2013/09/22/courtesy-of-stormbringer/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-71563317584629301322013-09-22T22:19:03.105+01:002013-09-22T22:19:03.105+01:00Sean, sorry. The point is, there are far worse dangers in the US than firearms. Even the FBI has numbers that indicate that of those firearm deaths many were suicides and some were caused by LE and other good guys stopping criminal activity.

Another search will show that the United States is not the country with the highest number of firearms-related deaths.

Anybody who can use Google can verify the statistics I have cited.chasmatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14962911972107586613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-60854283994285809052013-09-22T22:05:04.784+01:002013-09-22T22:05:04.784+01:00Sean, stats ought to be published which will put t...Sean, stats ought to be published which will put the "gun death" numbers in perspective. Alcohol, automobiles, swimming pools, medical malpractice all cause more deaths than firearms. That Guardian editorial sucks.

A quick check on the Center for Disease Control website shows this list:

Number of deaths for leading causes of death:

•Heart disease: 597,689
•Cancer: 574,743
•Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 138,080
•Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 129,476
•Accidents (unintentional injuries): 120,859
•Alzheimer's disease: 83,494
•Diabetes: 69,071
•Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 50,476
•Influenza and Pneumonia: 50,097
•Intentional self-harm (suicide): 38,364

Even Wikipedia has statistics. There’s a lot of countries more dangerous than the US.
chasmatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14962911972107586613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-19560618853192575812013-09-22T20:24:07.171+01:002013-09-22T20:24:07.171+01:00Sean, there are statistics that will put this edit...Sean, there are statistics that will put this editorial in the shitcan, where it belongs.chasmatichttp://dpjk.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-40494517318592832782013-09-22T19:32:00.890+01:002013-09-22T19:32:00.890+01:00Great letter.
