While a police officer has certain powers here on American soil, so does a Soldier and certainly a Special Forces Soldier, both stateside as well as world wide. And obviously with CPT Fatass he abused powers by directing emergency personnel during a crisis.
While this is not the same as claiming to have earned a medal and never even serving in the military, but to actually wear the medal on a uniform and claiming to have served is a different story.

Snowman, i like that idea, i think we should add tar and feather as well.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11611152308839278651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-51342004763731494832010-08-20T02:35:32.055+00:002010-08-20T02:35:32.055+00:00Dammnit...

It’s going to be hard...I whole heartedly disagree. It’s going to be hard for me to put into words how much I disagree, but I will try. Adolf Coors did NOT create Cinco de Mayo. That honor goes to a group of “south-of-the-border” folk that were living north of the border and needed a holiday of their own. It’s the day Mexican troops beat the French (at last count it’s World 84-French 0, or something like that). Plus Cinco de Mayo isn’t really celebrated in Mexico itself. They could really care less. If we must blame Cinco on a beer guy/company, let’s blame it on Adolphus Bush. He’s the one that stole the name “Budweiser” from Budweiser Budvar, a nectar of the gods that beats “Bud” hands down 25 hours a day, eight days a week!

And while I’m ranting on the whole beer thing, it is my opinion that, the most interesting guy on the planet is NOT in illegal alien. I know, I know!! What does American beer and sex in a boat have in common? I know! But really? Dos Equis? He might as well be pitching for Corona (which might as well be an American beer)!!

Speaking of expired work visas, what the hell is up with the bing commercial that doesn’t have a lick of English in it? Why is it being aired this side of the border while Arizona is being sued by the federal government for SB1070 and South Carolina is about to enact a tougher law than Arizona’s? What marketing genius, in the midst of the American southwest being overrun, said, “Hey guys, let’s make an all Spanish commercial!!!”? Don’t they read the news? Don’t they know tensions are running a little high right now? The NRA has the same “tension” problem right now with its members because they, the NRA, are thinking about endorsing Harry Reid (I speculate due to the fact that Sen. Reid donated a bunch of land to the NRA for a shooting range, tit-for-tat maybe?). I have my member resignation letter already written out to Mr. LaPierre asking for my dues back!

Jason

PS. If it included only criminalization of active fraud, it'd be defensible (as fraud is typically already illegal).

But the SVA as it stands (stood, in that district) prevents people from wearing costumes in movies or to a party (including in absolutely respectful ways, or a kid from wearing his grandfather's uniform, for instance.

It is unconstitutionally overbroad - and if it covered only "disrespect", it'd be unconstitutionally viewpoint-based.

Remember that the right to free speech includes the right to be a gigantic jerk - and that every soldier that fought for our nation fought for those rights, no matter how the jerk chooses to use them.

Steve: A police officer has powers that "a soldier" doesn't. It's not about respect, making impersonating a cop illegal - it's about people using the authority of the police for unlawful/unauthorized ends.Sigivaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16152366541957466049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-86424327141952136412010-08-19T13:27:35.048+00:002010-08-19T13:27:35.048+00:00The fight for freedom is fought on many fronts. In California it's ok to smoke pot but in the United States it is not. The state of Florida says I can carry a concealed weapon and shoot someone in self defense, but my city does not allow the discharge of firearms in the city limits. So if I shoot a terrorist it's ok to kill him (or her) but the gun will be confiscated if I do it in the city limits. And I will probably be sued by the family and they will probably win. There will never be a perfect world, but there can be rational thinking. Chaos is a part of life. How you deal with it is what separates the normal from crazy.FallshirmJagerhttp://www.upyoruscreep.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6340335897594941637.post-15403699391444481082010-08-19T13:25:02.364+00:002010-08-19T13:25:02.364+00:00There are the laws of the courts and the law of th...There are the laws of the courts and the law of the land. What i don't understand is that it is illegal to impersonate a police officer, but to impersonate a soldier and wear awards never received is perfectly acceptable? at this rate we're one short second away from people walking into crowded emergency rooms and impersonating doctors, i mean for real, i have a pair of scrubs, all i gotta do is walk in, pick up a clip board and sound clever.
