House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., R-Norwalk (standing, far right) is speaking while colleagues Rep. Barbara Lambert, D-Milford and Rep. Jack F. Hennessy, D-Bridgeport, play solitaire Monday night as the House convened to vote on a new budget. (AP)
The guy sitting in the row in front of these two . . . he's on Facebook, and the guy behind Hennessy is checking out the baseball scores.
These are the folks that couldn't get the budget out by October 1, are about to control your health care, cap and trade, and the list goes on . . .
THESE PEOPLE CAN'T EVEN RUN A RAILROAD and they're proposing legislation that will give them control of 20% of the largest economy in the world ? ? ?
Wow, and I thought that they would actually be paying some attention to each others discourse. I can't see anyone looking at him! They are all on their computers like good little zombies- all totally self involved! Gee, that is sad!
ReplyDeleteSo reality is validated that they aren't doing what they are supposed to and no wonder they are ignoring/can't hear US...
Sigh... If you had only checked out snopes.com first. The picture is from the Connecticut House...
ReplyDeleteHaving just moved from Connecticut this doesn't really surprise me.
ReplyDeleteGreetings STORMBRINGER!
ReplyDeleteI have found very interesting information in this well done column made by you. The true fact of the matter is that I ignored this affair. However, I am glad to know is, after all, I wonder how many concerning and interesting stuff we still ignore. I respectfully wanted to let you know that I had a great time reading this masterpiece.
Regards
Shame on these 2 Democrats. However, is the point to make it look bad for all Democrats. It fails. What are all the others looking at? Did the photographer go around and look at everyone and what was on their computer screen? Maybe some Republicans are also on face book, etc. playing solitaire, and not paying attention. Give the whole picture, not just 2.
ReplyDeleteThe sad truth of it is even if you shoved this picture in their face's they would just say "so what, what are you going to do about it?"
ReplyDeleteI looked for this on snopes and could not find anything so from this pic it looks good to me... of course it is from Connecticut... typical of lawmakers.... surprised no one is texting or talking on a cell phone....!
ReplyDeleteIf you look closely enough you can see that the picture was altered in Photoshop or some image editing software!
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous (March 10)...Nope, not altered at all, no matter how "closely enough" you look. An AP reporter took this photos and the democratic representatives issued an official apology to their consituents. Take a look at Snopes which calls the photo authentic and has the entire story. http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/solitaire.asp
ReplyDeletehow many of you have suffered through interminably long boring meetings with predictable (and often known) content? Ever found any distractions? This sniping about absolutely nothing has GOT TO STOP.
