TROUBLE BREWING . . .
. . . or the same old sabre rattling?
I used to work in a sensitive operation that is still ongoing . . . the Korean woman involved in the project (everybody is convinced she is originally from the North; she's like a Bond villain - I'll refer to her as the Cat Woman - she is that bizarre) . . .
. . . one day the NorKorCom's were doing their bit, massing on the border and sending out hateful propaganda; Cat looked at the TV screen and snorted, "They must need more rice!"
That's all this is . . . as evil as they are - and they ARE evil, I don't believe in underestimating the Enemy - the NorKorCom's don't have the means to project their power - everything they do is designed either toward controlling their own people, or as a means to an end vis-a-vis the South.
Another piece of wisdom . . . any U.S. soldier who has served on the Korean Peninsula . . . a.k.a. the Hermit Kingdom . . . a.k.a. the Land of the Open Kimono . . . will tell you - the United States has kept troops stationed on the peninsula all these years NOT to keep the North from going South, but to keep the South from going North . . .
Never underestimate the Enemy!
.
1. Agreed: "...United States has kept troops stationed on the peninsula all these years NOT to keep the North from going South, but to keep the South from going North..."
ReplyDelete2. Remember the Chosin Few: The communist China (PRC) attacked US soldiers in 1950 - the first time the PRC met us in the battle field. Perhaps, not the last...

P.S.
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem." (President Ronald Reagan) - Did not vote for him, but he turned out OK.
-Chris.
I was an Air Force spook stationed at Osan during the Great Hedgetrimming Incident of 1976, and it took all that Pak Chun Hee could do to keep the ROK Marines from heading north.
ReplyDeleteI figure that if the ROK ever gets really tired of this foolishness, they'll start north, and be pissing in the Yalu River before sundown of D+2.
Just my $.02
May 5 is OPERATION MARKET GARDEN COMMEMORATIVE DAY in THE UK and COMMONWEALTH and LIBERATION DAY IN THE NETHERLANDS.
ReplyDeleteDon't reckon Dwarf Korea has much of anything to do with anything but starving themselves, nothing to commemorate, that's for sure.
Cheers :-)
That sure is some pretty high stepping...
ReplyDeleteWhat i find difficult is to find a blog that may seize me for a minute but your blog is different. Bravo.
