GRIZZLY vs HARLEY . . . INCREDIBLE ! ! !

Can you believe a MOTORCYCLE killed this HUGE GRIZZLY?

This grizzly was hit by a Harley on Lolo Pass, between Lolo, Montana and Kooskia, Idaho.

Lolo Pass, elevation 5,233 feet (1,595 m) is a mountain pass in the northern Rocky Mountains on the border between the U.S. states of Montana and Idaho approximately 25 miles (40 km) west-southwest of Missoula, Montana.

It is famous as the location where the Lewis and Clark Expedition crossed the summit of the Bitteroot Range via the Lolo Trail on their outward and return journeys in 1805-06.

Look at the claws on that sucker!

The biker spent three days in the hospital and the hog's a wreck!

Lesson learned: Don't go Bear Hunting with a Harley, they don't last but one hunt!

  1. From what I read at the Harley forum it was a truck that hit the Grizz. Looked for a news report but didn't find one.
Impressive pictures anyhow and shows you just how damn big those things are.

Don't even want to think about what hitting something that big on a bike would be like!

  2. Here's a news report of a grizzly killed by a pickup in Montana in 2007 with some of the same photos. Probably the real tale: http://www.newwest.net/city/article/18257/C8/L8/

  3. I saw the aftermath of a deer/Goldwing collision at the Platte River bridge on I-80. The deer was on the north side of the road -- dead. The two riders were on the south side of the road -- being treated by paramedics. The bike didn't look to be in very good shape. If a 200 pound will do that, I don't think even a Hog would survive a grizzly collision.
