    I agree with this, for two reasons: (1) assimilation. Immigrants are not helped by being able to avoid learning English. It cuts them off from job opportunities and the wider community; (2) Cost. There is no reason taxpayers should assume the cost of translators for government services. If private businesses want to, that's their decision and if it helps their profits I can see why it makes sense. But there is no reason whatsoever for us to encourage immigrants to be isolated from the community at large by taking away every possible incentive fir them to learn English. MY ARGUMENT
