Because of what they do, the SEALs' activities in places like Afghanistan are a closely held secret. They operate in small groups, sometimes behind enemy lines. US Navy SEAL Adam Brown was killed in action with heavily armed militants somewhere in or around Khandahar on 14 May 2010.
Adam's story is incredible, his loss is a tragedy of course. He is in Valhalla now.
This is a two part series, but for some mysterious computer reason I can't get access to part two - stand by, I'll post it later in the day. Also, due to my recent deployment, I'm not sure if I posted the final installation to the saga of ODA 574 - I will tidy that up as well. Thanks, S.L.
UPDATE - I managed to get Part Two of Adam's story to play ball and now it's posted below - thanks for working with me, Team - here it is:
Clint and Heidi Smith have a plaque on one of their benches at Thunder Ranch for Chief Brown and feature a link to a memorial fund.

wish the could post these vids on facebook so we could share them, share his story. a truly inspirational person. cant wait to get a copy of his book.
DeleteThe NRA has finally atoned (intentionally or not)for their for their deal with the devil (Shumer and the DISCLOSE Act). I'll be rejoining.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't describe the Chief's death as "tragic"; the greater tragedy would be that he didn't live as he did. We feel his loss keenly, but somehow "tragedy" doesn't fit, not sure of the right word.

Thank you, Thank you! for posting this.

Sean, thanks for putting these up. Do you know if Brownells and the NRA will be making these available on DVDs?
ReplyDeleteHeartbreaking video. My heart goes out to his family. He made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Let us not forget those who paved the way for us that we might have something better and the freedom to enjoy it. See you in heaven Adam. You are a true hero. Thank you for all you have done for you gave all you had.
