Special Forces soldier dies trying to save daughters in house fire, Hope Mills NC
A firefighter exits the heavily damaged two-story home in Hope Mills NC where a Special Forces soldier died trying to rescue his two children during a house fire early Tuesday morning. The mother was injured in the blaze that started around 2:00 am March 6th, 2012. 36-year-old Edward Cantrell and his daughters 6-year-old Isabell Cantrell and 4-year-old Natalia Cantrell all perished in the fire.
How awful for his widow, who must figure out how to go on. My heart breaks.
ReplyDeleteA total contrast to a story I posted a few days back, where the 'parents' stood around outside wailing, while a passer-by rescued a child trapped in the building...
ReplyDeleteThe DoD announced today they will be honoring CW2 Cantrell with a military funeral at Arlington National Cemetery.
ReplyDeleteRIP Warrior..... your journey continues in a much more calm and peaceful world.
