LONE WOLF IN OHIO

Shooting took place in March in Middlefield, Ohio; bad guy was pulled over for running a stop sign. He bailed out of his car with an AK and opened up, firing 37 rounds at the two police officers who weren't even out of the squad car yet.

It says a lot for the training and capabilities of the cops; they got out, faced down the threat and outgunned a madman with an AK. The female officer lost her left index finger (a rookie with a month on the department). Male officer had slight injuries, and is back on the job. Bad guy fired 37 rounds from an AK-47 and died at the scene. In the car police found another 8 mags for the AK with 40 rounds each, extremist literature, DVD's on improvised explosives, etc. Apparently a loner, the man was a self-indoctrinated ultra-anti-government extremist nutjob.
