U.S. soldier Bergdahl freed from captivity in Afghanistan
Forwarded from the secret Special Forces unauthorized back channel frequency:
"We were at OP Mest, Paktika Province, Afghanistan. It was a small outpost where B Co 1-501st INF (Airbone) ran operations out of, just an Infantry platoon and ANA counterparts there. The place was an Afghan graveyard. Bergdahl had been acting a little strange, telling people he wanted to "walk the earth" and kept a little journal talking about how he was meant for better things. No one thought anything about it. He was a little “out there”. Next morning he's gone. We search everywhere, and can't find him. He left his weapon, his kit, and other sensitive items. He only took some water, a compass and a knife. We find some afghan kids shortly after who saw an american walking north asking about where the taliban are. We get hits on our voice intercepter that Taliban has him, and we were close. We come to realize that the kid deserted his post, snuck out of camp and sought out Taliban… to join them. We were in a defensive position at OP Mest, where your focus is to keep people out. He knew where the blind spots were to slip out and that's what he did. It was supposed to be a 4-day mission but turned into several months of active searching. Everyone was spun up to find this guy. News outlets all over the country were putting out false information. It was hard to see, especially when we knew the truth about what happened and we lost good men trying to find him. PFC Matthew Michael Martinek, Staff Sgt. Kurt Robert Curtiss, SSG Clayton Bowen, PFC Morris Walker, SSG Michael Murphrey, 2LT Darryn Andrews, were all KIA from our unit who died looking for Bergdahl. Many others from various units were wounded or killed while actively looking for Bergdahl. Fighting Increased. IEDs and enemy ambushes increased. The Taliban knew that we were looking for him in high numbers and our movements were predictable. Because of Bergdahl, more men were out in danger, and more attacks on friendly camps and positions were conducted while we were out looking for him. His actions impacted the region more than anyone wants to admit. There is also no way to know what he told the Taliban: Our movements, locations, tactics, weak points on vehicles and other things for the enemy to exploit are just a few possibilities. The Government knows full well that he deserted. It looks bad and is a good propaganda piece for the Taliban. They refuse to acknowledge it. Hell they even promoted him to Sergeant which makes me sick. I feel for his family who only want their son/brother back. They don’t know the truth, or refuse to acknowledge it as well. What he did affected his family and his whole town back home, who don’t know the truth. Either way what matters is that good men died because of him. He has been lying on all those Taliban videos about everything since his “capture”. If he ever returns, he should be tried under the UCMJ for being a deserter and judged for what he did. Bergdahl is not a hero, he is not a soldier or an Infantryman. He failed his brothers. Now, sons and daughters are growing up without their fathers who died for him and he will have to face that truth someday."
STORMBRINGER SENDS
can this account be corroborated? the accounts in the news that he just "wandered off" always seemed dubious, but if the version above is the true story, then this is indeed shameful and he should be tried under UCMJ.
ReplyDeleteYes, it can be verified. Google the Names of the Soldiers he listed as KIA. Their Obituaries are on Military times and their from his Unit, in the Same areas as the search at the beginning of this in 2009 when they were actively searching for this traitor. They died searching for him when he is a deserting traitor. My stomach was sick after I researched this. Now 5 high ranking Taliban Who are even on the traitorous UN's wanted list for war crimes are free to go about their Jihad. Disgusting!
DeleteNo, it has not been verified or confirmed.
DeleteActually tou can listen to a recording of his captors on Wikileaks talking about how he was without weapons and off post.... And Rolling Stone magazine printed his emails in which he declared that he was "Ashamed to be an American"... or you can watch his father Praise Allah (in Farsi) while standing on the White House Lawn.
DeleteNotice that whenever Obama is plagued with a scandal, a 'feel good' story suddenly pops up. I despise him. Never despised anyone in my life as much as this individual.
DeleteCorroboration:

If they don't prosecute and imprison this SOB for desertion, they may as well repeal the entire UCMJ, abolish the rank structure, and tell the troops to do whateverinhell they want.
ReplyDeleteMofo Special Snowflake needs to spend about 50 years looking at the earth of Kansas through narrow bars in his cell in Leavenworth.
And that, only because shooting the sumbitches against a wall has apparently gone out of vogue.
I'm pretty sure that's what O has been doing. Heard about all the higher up military brass being pushed out? Homosexuals being allowed? Women in combat? Our country AND military is being transformed and people keep voting the same scum in election after election. Notice the people in the primaries who are Constitutionalists losing most everywhere? People no longer believe in Truth and lies, right and wrong, ... Everything is about how you 'feel'. Sickening
DeleteOh, and how could I forget the Christian animosity suddenly springing up all over the military. This is not our fathers' military nor our fathers' country.
DeleteHey Sean;
ReplyDeleteI had heard rumblings through my friends that are still in "The Machine", they knew that he deserted, and he had talked about having sympathy for the Taliban. When he left his weapon and other sensitive gear, that was a clue and a half. I have have heard stuff that he converted to islam, makes me wonder if the Army releases him into the world, if he will form his own terror cell. The Taliban used our "don't leave anybody behind" that the Western based armies operate on. The other side don't care soo much about the individual like we do. It matters what family or what tribe you belong to and what value you might be for them.
If he is "released into the world" I think justice will find him in short order. Funny how that works.
DeleteStill need proof? Google for the deleted tweet his Muslim, Taliban-supporting father Robert Bergdahl posted about praising Allah and working hard to free Guantanamo Bay prisoners.
ReplyDeleteThis entire trade, is shameful and filled with deceit and misdirection from those in power.
So how if he is still in the service does he get to be next to the president in civilian cloths with a full beard?
ReplyDeletethat's his dad
DeleteRemember though, The Ft. Hood shooter* was allowed to grow a full beard because of his religion. IIRC he was dressed in Greens, with his beard at his courts martial. If I was in charge (and it's probably a good thing I'm not). He would have shaved one way or another.
Delete*I refuse to use the name of any psycho killer. They get enough notoriety from the MSM.
So I gotta ask: Word from the DOD ranks is that the Dirka-Dirkas will soon be enjoying a serving of Obama’s favorite dessert: drone strikes; That we had eyes-on during the exchange and still do; That this was supposedly an op to follow the rats to their hiding places.
ReplyDeleteAny hint of truth or pure horseshit?
Leftist political needs will determine the story we are told
ReplyDeleteHe will face judgement one way or another. Obama will welcome him "home" as a "hero," but the day will come when he faces his creator, and he will have to answer for all of his despicable crimes. Hopefully, he will face judgement before he kicks-off. This whole story utterly disgusts me.
ReplyDeleteHe'll never sleep a peaceful night for the rest of his life.
DeleteI would be inclined to question the evidence that Bergdahl is a deserter, whose crimes cost the lives of real soldiers, and bought the release of 5 dangerous Islamic terrorists from U.S. custody, if President Obama, and those of his staff whose strings he pulls (e.g., Rice and Hagel) would unequivocally state that there is no evidence that he was simply and solely a deserter.
ReplyDeleteStalin executed or imprisoned Soviet POWs who survived captivity, on the assumption, without proof, that they deserted.
ReplyDeleteToo bad there wasn't an "accident' on the way back from picking this turd up from the Taliban.
ReplyDeleteSTORMBRINGER, what you are describing is a complete leadership failure. Bergdahl made it very clear he was having problems and he was going to walk off his post to walk home and/or go talk to the Taliban. Where were his Senior NCOs? His 1st SGT? His SGT MAJ? His Platoon Ldr? The CMDR? All of these people were responsible for Bergdahl and they all failed his and his fellow soldiers who did the honorable thing to find and retrieve him. Spec Bergdahl should have been under both close supervision of his NCOIC, 1ST SGT and CMDR and most likely Mental Health Clinic...since he said he was going to walk home. That is crazy! There are hundreds of miles of extreme terrain, enemy territory and a couple of oceans. His fellow soldiers had a responsibility to ensure the leadership knew of Bergdahl non-sense talk and if they did the leadership failed this young soldier. Once he was captured and classified by his CMDRs and the Army we as America had a duty to get him back. He was a POW and America does not leave their soldiers behind. Finally, the brave soldiers who lost their lives were doing their jobs to find and return Bergdahl to his home in the Army and America. Please do not dishonor the memories of these and any soldiers injured during the searches for Bergdahl because he was an American Prisoner of War. PS I however did not support the 5 to 1 swap, but that geopolitical decision is for another post.
ReplyDeleteTo the commenter above ^
ReplyDeleteI must ask, why are you attempting to find fault with soldiers that honorably served and did not defect to the Taliban? Is this an attempted smear tactic in an effort to clear any wrong doing that Berghdal was responsible for? How is it that when a soldier deliberately and with intent, becomes a collaborator for the enemy, it is somehow a "leadership failure" and the fault of soldiers that honorably served?
