THE CHINOOK CRASH - DISPELLING THE MYTHS

This was so predictable - it wasn't even twenty-four hours after we got the terrible news of the Chinook tragedy SEAL Team 6, other US and Afghani military personnel in a non-SpecOps bird shot down by the Taliban, that the rumor mill started churning out speculation and outright misinformation. A reader emailed me asking if there was anything to a spectacular conspiracy theory making the rounds, and he included the base document: essentially, the SEALs had been set up for ambush by an individual within the Obama Administration in an attempt to silence them about the truth of who was or was not in that compound they entered during the Osama hit. Somehow of course this is all tied in to the Birth Certificate nonsense.

I sent a reply discrediting the conspiracy, why and how it could not possibly be, but had no intention of taking it any further - this site is dedicated to honoring our warrior class and there is no honor in re-transmitting this kind of horse hockey. This is a legitimate military blog, not a forum for the MoonBats of the Tinfoil Hat Brigade that populate every nook and cranny of both sides of the aisle.

Then early this morning Blogmeister Theo - mentor of STORMBRINGER and Enfant Terrible of the worthy site Last of the Few - emailed me and asked, "Is this bullshit or is there some thing in it?" Attached was the same email that I'd seen a week earlier. I include the text here only so that I may dismantle this outrageous theory by the numbers, and in doing so see that our warrior's honor may remain intact and that their spirits may rest in the Hall of Heroes in Valhalla, which no doubt is where they are now.

SEAL TEAM SIX - INVESTIGATE THE WHITE HOUSE!

On May 5th I had an email conversation with a retired military man with spook contacts . . .

(Bullshit Flag #1: "retired military man with spook contacts" could be ANYBODY - Hell, I've got "spook contacts" in fact at one point I WAS a spook, even though the spooks didn't call us that they called us Sneaky Petes and we just called ourselves Snakeaters.)

All were in total agreement that the Bin Laden episode was pure theater. The SEALS were sent into a compound as evidenced by the lost chopper on site. But Osama Bin Laden wasn't in that compound. Osama Bin Laden has been dead for years. Bin Laden had a genetic condition that caused renal failure (this genetic condition is common among deeply inbred Saudi arab muslims). Bin Laden had been on dialysis BEFORE 9/11.

(Bullshit Flag #2: The-kidney-failure-dialysis-theory had been going around for years prior to 9/11 in fact back in '98 an analyst at CIA explained to me a school of thought: just leave bin Laden alone and let him die of kidney failure that way we don't make a martyr out of him. Absolutely no proof one way or the other on the condition of bin Laden's kidneys and if you looked at his videos and photos he certainly didn't LOOK like a candidate for dialysis)

Dialysis is difficult enough for people in first world countries who can have it done in outstanding facilities. Bin Laden was having it done either in caves or in homes post 9/11. People in renal failure having dialysis done in fricking caves do NOT live for ten more years. Period. There was no dialysis equipment found in the compound the SEALS raided on May 2. Of course there wasn't. Bin Laden wasn't in that compound because Bin Laden has been dead for years.

(Bullshit Flag #3: Could it be the absence of dialysis equipment simply confirms that the whole bin Laden kidney failure thing was a pipe dream concocted at Langley in the first place?)

This is why the "body" was declared "positively identified" faster than any known DNA testing process in existence - and this DNA testing was carried out not in a lab mind you, but inside a Chinook and/or V-22 Osprey helos en route to the USS Carl Vinson. The body was then dumped into the Indian Ocean in a mad dash to ensure that "burial" took place within 24 hours of death in order to "honor" musloid burial traditions. Not a single picture of the so-called "Bin Laden corpse" has ever been released - and never will.

(Bullshit Flag #4: The DNA results weren't immediately available they took time, and don't be in such a hurry to claim that no picture will ever be released - while I personally disagree with the decision not to release the picture that whole episode was carefully stage-managed and Obama is such a crafty pol I wouldn't be at all surprised if photos emerge some time prior to the election to make him look like a hero. Either that or the fact that bin Laden was shot in the back of the head and they CAN'T release THAT - Law of Land Warfare and all that . . .)

The entire Bin Laden episode was stagecraft. It was pure theater that was designed to give Obama a boost in the polls and give distraction and cover. Distract from what? Cover from what?

April 20, 2011: The release date of Dr. Jerome Corsi's book, "Where's the Birth Certificate" is announced as May 17, and pre-sales begin on Amazon.com. Corsi's work is known to be extremely thorough and meticulous. Within hours, Corsi's book is #1 on Amazon.com - fully 28 days before its release. The Obama regime is panicked.

(Bullshit Flag #5: This is where the conspiracy theory really gets complicated . . . I know this is an ordeal but bear with me here people . . .)

April 27, 2011: In order to diffuse and undercut the Corsi book, the Obama regime releases a PDF image purported to be a scan of his original long-form Hawaiian birth certificate. Within hours, thousands of graphic designers, many of whom are self-professed Obama voters and supporters, isolate and demonstrate with dozens of objective proof sets that the PDF released by the Obama regime is not just a forgery, but an astoundingly incompetent and obvious forgery.

April 27 through May 2: The Obama regime is now in a blind panic. Deeming it too risky, instead of commissioning the forged birth certificate from document and photo illustration experts within the CIA or NSA, the Obama regime instead farmed the project off on someone inside the White House with a functional but middling knowledge of photo illustration programs. To the thoroughly inexpert eyes of Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and Valerie Jarrett, the forged certificate file appeared extremely convincing, and was thus released with fanfare. Within hours, they knew that they had not only made a mistake, but a massive mistake that could land them all in prison. The forger was so incompetent that he/she didn't even flatten the image thus compressing and masking the component layers before posting it. And that was just the tip of the iceberg of glaring flaws and errors. The mainstream press was, so far, completely complicit in the cover-up of the forgery, but Rathergate proved that if the forgery debunking generated any mainstream traction whatsoever, the end could come swiftly. The Obama regime needed a big distraction and they needed it fast. They had been planning on holding the staged Bin Laden capture and killing until 2012 - for the thick of the campaign, and perhaps as an "October Surprise", but it would have to be moved up to now.

May 2, 2011: The Bin Laden operation occurs. In all likelihood, a low-to-mid level Taliban or insurgent leader is killed.

(Bullshit Flag #6: As with most conspiracy theories, this one falls flat on it's face right here with the sheer number of individuals required to keep their mouths shut in order to keep the whole thing secret and therefore effective against the public. First of all two entire platoons of SEALs have to be in on the scheme, then there's the medical personnel and whoever else accompanied ST6 on the raid - JSOC operations are "Joint" and typically include EOD attachments at a MINIMUM not to mention Delta guys were there as well, the mortuary personnel on board the Carl Vinson who prepared the body for burial at sea, and then everybody in the chain between the Whitehouse and the tactical operations center the raid launched out of. How many people are we up to by now? Somewhere between two to five hundred, I'd say.)

May 3, 2011: Within hours, Vice President Joe Biden destroys any notions of OPSEC and bellows to the entire world in public remarks at a dinner at the Ritz Carlton that the Bin Laden raid was carried out by "the SEALS".

(Bullshit Flag #7: There is no way known ANYBODY would make Biden a member of their secret conspiracy - unwitting participant or otherwise - the man is simply TOO STUPID to be depended on to do anything short of f*cking it up completely. In fact that's his value to Barry Soetero; he's Obama's Life Insurance policy - as long as Biden is #2 in line to the throne NOBODY is going to off Obama because the alternative is simply too unbearable to consider, even for the Democrats.)

Within hours Obama regime had gleefully leaked that the raid was carried out by "SEAL Team 6?, also known as DEVGRU. Up until this point in history, all DEVGRU activities and information had been highly classified. Now the term "SEAL Team 6" was blasted across every newspaper in the world, with Disney even moving to trademark the name. The Obama regime wanted the ENTIRE WORLD to know the name "SEAL Team 6".

(Bullshit Flag #8: The term "SEAL Team 6" isn't classified and DEVGRU is a part of the deception game the military has to play to keep the Freedom of Information Act requests from busting out servicemembers assigned to classified units - just like the Army denies the existence of a "Delta Force" and technically speaking they're right - officially it's SFOD-D and I'm not going to blurt out the other acronym but take my word for it who "SEAL Team 6" are and what they do has been open source knowledge for decades . . . just because the writer of this tripe didn't know and some Gen Xer over at Disney thought they could copyright a military unit's name and numerical designation only means two things: A) Jack, and B) Sh*t)

May 5, 2011: As I said earlier, I conversed with retired military contact with spook contacts regarding the obvious theatrics of the Bin Laden episode and the need for a cover-up by the Obama regime. The conversation ended with the following exchange:

May 6, 2011: Obama travels to Ft. Campbell, KY to openly "meet and congratulate" SEAL Team 6 members.

(Bullshit Flag #9: DEVGRU is stationed in Little Creek Virginia - everyone knows this. Everyone, that is, except this moonbat. 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) a.k.a. Task Force 160 a.k.a. the 160th a.k.a. Task Force is stationed at Ft. Campbell. Obama probably had a photo op with a bunch of rotorheads. Very special, elite rotorheads, but rotorheads nonetheless. There is no way on God's Green Earth that ST6 operators - or Delta for that matter - are going to pose in front of a bunch of cameras and let the whole world know who they are. Ain't gonna happen, no way known. How stupid is this Ann Barnhardt bird?)

PART TWO:

The Execution of SEAL Team Six (Part 2)

August 6, 2011: A Chinook helo is shot down in Tangi, Wardak Province, Afghanistan. Within hours, before family notifications could possibly have been completed, global press accounts positively confirm that 22 of the 30 Americans killed were not just SEALS, but members of SEAL Team 6. Again, DEVGRU operations have been, up until now, highly classified. Today, the Obama regime made a point of immediately revealing the unit identities of the SPECOPS forces among the dead.
In the past, DEVGRU men and other SPECOPS men have been killed in action, but their missions were so secret and so crucial to OPSEC that their deaths were covered-up by the government and attributed to such things as "training accidents" and the like - and I have no problem with that.

(Bullshit Flag #10: MoonBat Annie has never heard of Blackhawk Down, apparently - or did I miss the memo that we'd somehow convinced the world that the entire Battle of Mogadishu was one giant training accident?)

These men understand going in to intense units such as DEVGRU that OPSEC is paramount, that they will never be publicly acknowledged for their heroism, and that if they are killed or captured in action, the government will lie about that in order to protect OPSEC and to prevent the enemy from gaining a propaganda and morale coup.

(Bullshit Flag #11: The Delta operators (and Rangers) who died in the Mog' were identified after the fact - I know because I helped bury one of them - Griz Martin is clearly identified in the book Blackhawk Down.)

Compare that reality with what happened today. The Obama regime distributed this information, and the Obama regime's lapdog press instantly splashed headlines declaring this as the Taliban's "REVENGE" for the "death of Bin Laden." As I write this now, the Drudge Report headline in bright red reads, "REVENGE: SEALS WHO GOT OSAMA KILLED IN AFGHANISTAN."

I'll say what everyone else is thinking but is too scared to say. The Obama regime is almost certainly directly complicit in these deaths. The time, location and most especially, the PASSENGERS in the Chinook were passed to the Taliban. Additionally, you can't take out a Chinook with small arms fire or even standard RPGs such as the Taliban use. The Taliban needed serious weaponry to take this helo down, and that serious weaponry needed to be in exactly the right spot at exactly the right time, ready to fire.

(Bullshit Flag #12: An RPG will blow a hole straight through either of a Chinook's two jet engines - one on either side of the rear tail - or the transmission and all the gears and shafts located between the two engines. Or you could blast away at the cockpit - hell, a .22 long rifle could pop through those plexiglass windows so you know 4.5 lbs of rocket-powered shaped charge (which is what an RPG is) could do the trick any day of the week.)

Why would the Obama regime kill Americans? I think the question is, why WOULDN'T the Obama regime kill Americans? The Obama regime is composed of Marxist-Leninist psychopaths. A glancing, superficial survey of 20th century history shows one glaring fact above all others: MARXISTS MURDER PEOPLE WITHOUT COMPUNCTION. Marxists also hate Americans, by definition.

(Bullshit Flag #13: I don't know about you, but conspiracy to commit murder is a BIG ethical dilemma for most people, and participating in the killing of people is NOT as easy as it sounds. There might be some wild-eyed, politically inspired leftists in the Whitehouse but if they were willing to go this far, I imagine we'd be having a whole lot more political killings on a local level than a complex operation like this one calls for.)

Three tacks:

1. The men on board the Chinook may have been some of the same men who participated or had direct knowledge of the staged Bin Laden raid and were killed to permanently silence them.

2. These DEVGRU men were killed to send a signal to the surviving DEVGRU men who carried out the Bin Laden raid to keep their mouths shut.

(Bullshit Flag #14: I know what kind of men these SEALs are because I'm of the same tribe and let me tell you, we don't scare easy. If I suspected for one micro-second that someone in my chain of command was responsible for the deliberate deaths of my comrades, THEY'D be the ones put on notice and their physical survival would involve going to ground and becoming invisible FAST because me and a lot of guys like me would going after them.)

3. Certainly, the release of the unit identity of the dead within hours - before even family notification could have been made (which requires an IN PERSON visit to the family, remember) was an obvious bow to Al Qaeda, the Taliban and the entire muslim world.

(Bullshit Flag #15: The individuals who perished on the Chinook were not identified for days after the family notification. This crazy bird simply does not understand how the family notification process works. Identifying the unit, and identifying the individuals are two completely separate things.)

This event was INSTANTLY propagandized by the Obama media as "revenge" exacted for Bin Laden's death. And remember, Bin Laden has been dead for many years. The raid of May 2 was pure stagecraft to distract the world from the release of the forged Obama birth certificate.

I am not a conspiracy theorist.

(Bullshit Flag #16: If you're not a conspiracy theorist, then how come you're spreading this incredible conspiracy theory that strains the imagination and fails the common sense test at every twist and turn of your convoluted theory?)

I can't stand Alex Jones or any 9/11 truther. I have turned down dozens of interviews with such types. In fact, I am a huge believer in the Lex Parsimoniae, which is sometimes called "Occam's Razor", which states that the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one. I teach this as part of my job, namely that the cattle markets are neither manipulated nor impossible to operate within at a profit. The reality is that the cattle industry participants do not make money because they are functionally incompetent. It is very, very simple. True conspiracies are very rare.

This entire Obama situation is a conspiracy, and I say that without the slightest hesitation. Obama is not a citizen of the United States, he is a puppet front for a cabal of Marxist-Leninsts including Soros, Ayers, Dohrn, Strong, Jarrett and many, many others. These people are enemies of the United States. These people are deeply psychologically damaged, and are capable of ordering people murdered in order to protect themselves and increase their own power. The three dead homosexual black men from Trinity United Church of Christ, Young, Bland and Spencer, all of whom were sexually linked to Barack Obama, were probably the first people specifically murdered by the Obama regime.
(WHATEVER - This is really getting crazy here.) The hundreds of Mexicans and the two American agents Terry and Zapata were murdered by Operation Fast and Furious in order to advance and increase the power of the Obama regime. These SEALS and the others on board that Chinook today were almost certainly betrayed and murdered by the Obama regime.

(Bullshit Flag #17: Just think it over for a second here; in order for this to have occurred as MoonBat Annie lays out, there would have to be an agent of the Obama administration located within the JSOC tactical operations center WILLING TO COMMIT HIGH TREASON and have a hotline to the Taliban located in that particular valley, so that the moment he became aware of the mission - because the Oval Office is not in on it each and every time a helo scrambles with some Special Operators on it - he's got to get on the phone to the enemy - from within a tightly controlled classified environment within a highly secured compound - and say, "OK Mohammed, the Infidels are on their way just as we planned it, so make sure you have The Device ready for their annihilation!" That right there is too impossible to pull off.)

Why did the Obama regime immediately reveal the unit identity of the SPECOPS forces involved in the first place, despite the fact that DEVGRU was highly classified? Why was the personnel composition of the Chinook released IMMEDIATELY today after the helo went down - before even family notifications could be made? WHY?

Why would you hand your enemy, Al Qaeda and the Taliban, a massive propaganda coup? WHY?

Here, again, is the clip of Larry Grathwohl, who infiltrated the Weather Underground Marxist terrorist organization in the 1970s. The Weather Underground was founded by Obama's political godfather, communist mentor (along with Frank Marshall Davis), murderer, and ghostwriter of "Dreams From My Father", Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn. In this interview, taped in 1980 while Obama was still just an unknown undergrad foreign scholarship student at Occidental College, Grathwohl describes the leadership of the Weather Underground (which is Ayers and Dohrn) discussing what will be done with the "un-reformable, diehard capitalists" once they have overthrown the government of the United States. The answer is extermination in camps in the Southwest. (This is way out there MoonBat-ism at it's best, folks.) The estimated total that would need to be killed? 25 million, which was 10% of the population at the time. Ayers & Dohrn already have overthrown the government of the United States via their puppet protégé, Barack Obama. They have guaranteed that the economy will collapse. The only thing left for them to do is suspend the Constitution and open the camps. I'll see you there.

WHY WEREN'T OUR NAVY SEALS AND SPECIAL OPS FORCES IN THEIR NORMAL, UPGRADED ARMORED CHINOOK! WHY WERE THEY IN AN UN-ARMORED REGULAR CHINOOK

(Bullshit Flag #18: MH- series helo's aren't necessarily armored to any great extent more than conventional helos. You can up-armor certain portions of the passenger compartments and the fuel cells are self-sealing, but the engine and transmission housings have to be able to radiate that heat off, and they have enough of a hard time mitigating the heat signature never mind cladding the things in armor that will keep the heat in. This is where this MoonBat bird goes straight to Double-Extra-Stupid-Ville and does not pass "GO", does not collect $200.)

The fact of the matter is that the Chinook crash is what it looks like right on the surface - there are simply too many good, honorable men and women in the chain for a convoluted conspiracy like this to even exist, never mind to keep it secret after the fact. The fact that she has no credible sources should alert everyone's BS meter. These SEALs were on QRF duty when the call came out to go to the sound of the guns, and they flew out on the first thing smoking. The Taliban had set up a helo ambush - hello? War against the Soviets, anyone? WE taught them this tactic, from our experience against the Communists in Vietnam who taught it to us. It is a tragedy of national proportions, and to be sounding off this kind of alarmist bullcrap over the bodies of dead American heroes is disgraceful, dishonorable and is a shameful thing to do to the families and fellow warriors of those who perished in the Chinook crash.

A BOOK OF FIVE RINGS

Miyamoto Musashi was the greatest swordsman who ever lived.

Musashi lived in the late fourteenth century - 1584 to 1645 - a period of civil war and strife in feudal Japan. The story of his life is amazing; over the course of a fifty-plus year career he fought over sixty-five duels to the death. In his first and the last battles Musashi fought formidable opponents, armed only with wooden swords. Musashi was the founder of the Hyoho Niten Ichi-ryu, or Nito Ryu style of swordsmanship.

We are fortunate that Musashi's wisdom is handed down to directly to us in Go Rin No Sho - The Book of Five Rings - his famous book on strategy, tactics, and the philosophy of the warrior life.

When I was a private in the 82D Airborne, I learned of Musashi and read his book. I read somewhere that his writings were studied not only by the warrior class, but were also becoming very popular amongst successful businessmen. At that time I did not understand how the principles of swordsmanship and all-out warfare could possibly apply to the corporate world of boardrooms, suits and ties. It was not until more than twenty years later, after I retired from active duty and became involved in business myself, that it all became clear; combat is the ultimate contest, and in business everything is a contest - there really is no difference at all.

An early lesson I learned was the phrase, to "make castles within castles". In a sense this indicates the concept of insurance. We all know what insurance is and how it applies to every aspect of every business endeavor, and even our personal lives.

But there are other kinds of insurance:

A commander in the field applies the concept of insurance when he puts two battalions forward, and keeps one back as a reserve; or, conversely, puts one battalion forward and keeps two back. This two-up-one-back / one-up-two-back principle applies at all levels; from the divisions within a Corps-level front, right on down to the squads and platoons of a rifle company.

Another type of insurance is the concept of diversification; keeping more than one iron in the fire, or not putting all of one's eggs in the same basket. This represents the strategic principle of flexibility - should one course of action pan out or fail, the wise warrior always has a Plan B to fall back on.

Most of the material sent is political, Tea Party-themed - which is great, although I usually tend to wave off politics because it's done elsewhere, and I don't have time enough to dedicate the energy & creative juices to do it right.

STORMBRINGER is a military blog, primarily dedicated to honoring heroes of the great US / UK / ANZAC / CANADA / ISRAEL Alliance in this conflict forced upon us by the Evildoers of Islamic Fundamentalism. Themes include reports on international security, great battles and notable events of military history, the greatness of Ancient Greece and Rome (and how the civilization of Ancient Rome still exists and prevails), the story of United States Army Special Forces (the Green Berets) and of course from time to time bits of my personal philosophy; inspired by Aristotle, Cicero, Atilla the Hun, John Locke, Benjamin Franklin, the Duke of Wellington, Winston Churchill, Ayn Rand and Rush Limbaugh, to name a few.

An essential ingredient of my personal philosophy - a.k.a. The Philosophy of STORMBRINGERISM - is what Ayn Rand refers to as laizee-faire capitalism. The phrase laissez-faire (pronounced: lah-zay-fair) is French and literally means "let do", but it broadly implies "let it be", or "leave it alone." In economics, laissez-faire describes an environment in which transactions between private parties are free from state intervention, including restrictive regulations, taxes, tariffs and enforced monopolies.

Also from Ayn Rand, I embrace the concept of Human Exceptionalism; the belief that human beings have special status in nature based on their unique capacities. This belief is the grounding for some naturalistic concepts of human rights. Taking it a step further, Rush Limbaugh describes the philosophy of American Exceptionalism: the theory that the United States is qualitatively different from other nations. This stems from our emergence from a revolution, and the uniquely American ideology, based on liberty, egalitarianism, individualism, populism and laissez-faire. This observation is traced to Alexis de Tocqueville, the first writer to describe the United States as "exceptional."

STORMBRINGERISM is also about the Cult of the 1911 and the individuals right to self-defense - up to and including lethal force - is a justifiable defense in a court of law:

The unwritten clause in my life insurance policy.

But, you say, how does this include the Great Alliance; our worthy allies the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Israel?

Simple: the American experience would not have been if the foundations of Democracy had not been laid in Britain, and before that in Ancient Rome, and before that Ancient Greece. In that, the UK is the Mother Country - has been and always will be - and by default this makes Canada, Australia and New Zealand our brothers and sisters.

But . . . but . . . what about tiny (yet MIGHTY) Israel?

Israel is the oldest country, and at the same time the youngest. The ancient Egyptian Empire and civilization has come and gone . . .

Nobody speaks in hieroglyphics anymore.

. . . and the people who built the pyramids are not the same folks who live in Egypt today. Likewise Babylon . . .

Nobody speaks in cuneiform anymore.

. . . it is gone, ground into the dust, even less of it left than in Egypt. There is still a Syria, but the ancient Assyrian Empire is dead and gone and it's people flung far and wide across the globe in diaspora.

Of these ancient kingdoms and empires of the Old Testament, only Israel remains, the smallest - yet most powerful - of all the countries of the Middle East.

The oldest country in the Middle East is also the only modern democracy in the Middle East.

Modern Israel exists because of Britain and the United States - if it was up to the rest of Europe and the Middle East there wouldn't even be anybody left to occupy a State of Israel. The Islamists - al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Mullah-led theocracy of Iran - view Israel as a Western foothold in their territory, much like the Crusader Kingdoms a thousand years ago. They - the radicals who have hijacked Islam - consider it only a question of time until they drive the Israelis into the sea and get that land back.

As such, Israel is with us, or like the Israeli girls say:

"Don't worry America - ISRAEL IS BEHIND YOU ! ! !"

"VISIT ISRAEL BEFORE ISRAEL VISITS YOU."

While we're on the subject of girls, women, chicks, sheilas, females, and members of the opposite sex - Israeli or otherwise - there was a bit of resistance when I first introduced the BIRDS OF STORMBRINGER; on the grounds that this would affect the way people view STORMBRINGER as a serious literary outlet - to which I replied "When did anybody take STORMBRINGER seriously in the first place?"

Here's the deal with The Birds: my brother is a journalist for an afternoon paper in a large American city in the Northeast. It's a tabloid format; he takes himself seriously so of course I always tease him; "If your paper was on the other side of the Atlantic, there'd be a Page 3 Girl." Warning! Warning! When I first signed up, SOLDIER Magazine always had a bikini babe featured on the back cover. Sometime toward the end of my first tour I picked up a copy of SOLDIER and flipped to the back page. Staring back at me was a sergeant; all cami'd up and in full battle rattle - talk about taking a hard dose of reality. The Birds of STORMBRINGER are a throwback to an earlier, simpler time when it was okay for a warrior to tape a pinup girl in his wall locker, or depict one on the nose of his mighty war machine:

PERSPECTIVES

It's a type of angst . . . the problem is I just don't know where I'm going with this thing . . .


I asked one of my confidants, one of the Gurus of the BlogoSphere: "Am I getting enough site visits? I'm averaging over 2500 a day - is that a lot?"

I was told; "2500 is a fabulous number for a personal site: the typical blog numbers its readers in the hundreds. You don't become a business though until you pass the 100,000 mark however."


That explains why I don't have an entourage . . .

. . . like Gwen Stefani and her posse of demented female ninja . . .

I peaked over 4200 site visits one day last week.


People are reading my great thoughts.


When I was a kid, I wanted to be a great writer, like the great Hemingway:

The problem was, I didn't feel I had anything great to write about.

So I went out and had all these Hemingway-esque adventures. Now I don't want to write about them because I don't want to come off sounding like Hemingway; some kind of a chest-beating self-aggrandizer.


I felt I would become a philosopher.


Then this Irishman in a bar laughed at me; "A PHILOSOPHER? That's for the old men with the grey beards. You're a young whippersnapper, you should be out LIVING your life, not PHILOSOPHIZING about it!"


This pure Irish wisdom fell right in line with my Zen training, so I went out and lived in the Eternal Now.

The trouble with living in the Eternal Now is it leaves no room for philosophizing . . .

Then there's the Birther Doc thing . . .





My post on Lt. Col. WingNut generated several comments that all sounded a similar theme. Here are a couple choice quotes:


"We hung men 70 years ago who just followed orders. For this man, that history means something."

"The Numerberg Trials settled the question of whether a soldier should follow illegal orders. If the prez is illegal then wouldn't his orders be illegal too?"


Lemme see here - the man was sworn in my Justice Roberts - who with eight of his co-workers knows more about legal and illegal than all of us put together - and if there was a case to be heard about the mysterious origins of Barack the Magic Negro, you'd think it'd be investigated at that level.


WHATEVER . . . hundreds of thousands of American G.I.'s who take their oaths seriously just got equated to Hitler's Nazi goons . . . by a pack of scoundrels wrapping themselves in Patriotism . . .


Scenario:
"Hey Private! Mop and buff that floor!"

"No way, sergeant, I don't have to!"

"HUH?"

"The President of the United States was born in Kenya - so that's an illegal order. I don't have to follow it."


WHAT KIND OF A WAY IS THIS TO RUN A MILITARY???


I want you Birther guys to back up and look at where your line of reasoning leads; this is the same line of reasoning the Code Pink / MoveOn dot Org crowd was throwing out there about Bush - HE wasn't legally elected EITHER . . . REMEMBER ? ? ?

So, what? - are we supposed to have half the military go into a state of mutiny every four to eight years just because they don't like the outcome of an election? There are countries where that is the norm, and I have served in several of them. They are called Banana Republics - and they are HELL ON EARTH.

Now stop and think . . . is that what you want the United States of America to look like? Because that is where this sort of mindset leads - Barack Obama is playing you like a cheap violin, and you are enabling him right along to his ultimate objective: to destroy the greatest country in the history of the world, cut us down to size and make us pay for being the "oppressor" nation to all the Third World little guys out there.

Always remember - the American Revolution is an eternal revolution - true - but it is also an INternal revolution.



We will prevail - we always do - but we won't prevail by advocating mutiny and the chaos and disruption that will bring. That is not what Blog STORMBRINGER is all about, and that is NOT what the Tea Party Movement is all about, either. There are some important elections coming up, and we are going to run the Obama crowd out of town on a rail . . .

THE COWBOY SOLUTION

In the past, OBAMA said he wants us to cut the amount of gasoline we use . . .

. . . maybe you'll recall his genius solution was to keep your tires inflated.

Well, I have a better idea:

The best way to stop using so much gasoline is to deport 15 million illegal immigrants! That would be 15 million less people using our gas. We've already seen that this will cost us nothing; because all we have to do is put the word out on the street that we're going to enforce a few existing immigration laws - like the good folk did in Arizona - and the illegals will pack up and move all by themselves.

Fifteen million fewer people at the pump means more gas for the rest of us - this is the law of supply and demand - the price of gas will come down . . .

Bring our troops home from Afghanistan to guard the borders, and when they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the Border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and send his ass to Afghanistan . . .


Tell him if he wants to come to AMERICA, he must first serve a tour in OUR military . . .

Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it . . .

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country . . .

He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal resident....

This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Afghanistan and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves . . .

If they refuse to serve, ship them to Afghanistan anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo . . .


Problem solved!

EL RUSHBO TIES THE KNOT

At this time Blog STORMBRINGER would like to offer heartfelt congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Rush Limbaugh on the occasion of their wedding.

I was on the road last couple of weeks so this post is a bit belated. From early reports their wedding was a wonderful affair . . . the great Elton John entertained the guests . . .



Sidebar: Someone commented on that to me this weekend and I said, "Yeah, well, he's not really my style of music but he had some great hits back in the day and there's a couple of tunes he plays that gives me poignant memories so there you have it . . ."

What was inferred in that comment is that Elton John's sexuality is well-known of course, and Rush Limbaugh is the great voice of the Conservative Movement; is there not a contradiction taking place here? But that's all a part of Rush's message: we as conservatives don't judge or label people by their sexuality any more than we do by their race, color or creed. We judge them by their words and deeds, and Elton John has entertained millions over the decades and has harmed no one so there you have it.

Anyway it wasn't my wedding it was the Limbaughs'.





Rush Limbaugh is a great American philosopher and the de facto leader of the Conservative Movement, of course, and I could only wish and hope I can be half as successful in life and business as he is.

I admire Rush for many reasons, among them I share his sense of optimism in the face of adversary, and his determination and faith in Human Exceptionalism.

Rush is often misunderstood and has often been (inaccurately) accused of extremist/racist views. Rush's detractors are many, to which I say put aside what you've heard about the man and listen to what he has to say; you'll be surprised. Rush Limbaugh is possibly the living embodiment of the cliché, "Shoot the messenger."


Defining the conservative movement, Rush Limbaugh wrote in an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal in 2005:

"I love being a conservative. We conservatives are proud of our philosophy. Unlike our liberal friends, who are constantly looking for new words to conceal their true beliefs and are in a perpetual state of reinvention, we conservatives are unapologetic about our ideals."

"We are confident in our principles and energetic about openly advancing them. We believe in individual liberty, limited government, capitalism, the rule of law, faith, a color-blind society and national security.

"We support school choice, enterprise zones, tax cuts, welfare reform, faith-based initiatives, political speech, homeowner rights and the War on Terrorism."

"And at our core we embrace and celebrate the most magnificent governing document ever ratified by any nation — the U.S. Constitution. Along with the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes our God-given natural right to be free, it is the foundation on which our government is built and has enabled us to flourish as a people."

Greetings.

As often stated over these past ten-odd months that I've pursued the modern phenomena of blogging, STORMBRINGER is not a political blog.


In fact, as I have often stated on this blog that generally, I avoid politics; on account that it generates Dark Energy within me. Instead, I embrace military themes, philosophy, and a healthy dose of irreverent humor.

I am not a political shill or activist; I am a soldier, a philosopher, a businessman and a laissez-faire capitalist. Recently however, I have become aware of an extremely disturbing development - a thing so vile, so evil, so insidious that the Obama Administration has embraced and unleashed upon our children.


I have struggled with this thing; it is not my desire to stir up controversy. For the past two weeks I have sought counsel of those I respect and admire, and of YOU - the readers of Blog STORMBRINGER, who communicate with me regularly via email.


I can no longer remain silent.


It is no longer possible to discuss national security and the international geopolitical situation, and keep it separate from the unassailable offensive against all that is good and decent and normal of our society and our great Western Civilization. You know - the same civilization that brought humanity such oppressive concepts as Human Rights, the Social Contract, and Enlightenment.


Often I have stated that I am not a hero, but I have served with heroes. What kind of a hero would I be, what honor would I do to the heroes I have served with, if I stood by and said or did nothing while this horrible, horrible thing advances upon those we serve to protect and defend?


There is a revolution brewing out there.












Not THIS kind of a revolution - this is what we are up against!












O'Riley calls it the Culture War; this is apt. What kind of a philosopher would I be if I stand blithely by as the nihilists and the socialists continue their assault on everything decent, freedom-loving people stand for?

As much as I'd like to avoid becoming a revolutionary, it seems that revolution has sought me. In a previous existence, I was a counter-insurgent. Very well, in this struggle, I will be a counter-revolutionary.

I will post on the issue that I refer to, late tomorrow evening, to catch the Monday morning wave. Oh yes - now it all matters. If I am to climb down from my ivory tower to roll up my sleeves and join the bloody fray, I am going to turn a buck doing it: Laissez-faire Capitalism, Baby! There is nothing dishonorable about making money - STORMBRINGER is going commercial.

THEMES

Due to current increase in workload and professional constraints, I will not be able to maintain posting to Blog STORMBRINGER on a daily basis. I draw no income from my writings here - none whatsoever - and right about now Blog STORMBRINGER is starting to absorb way too much bandwidth; it's starting to interfere with what pays the bills.







From this point forward, I will post one or two originally crafted "articles" a week; and perhaps two or three cultural "hit pieces" such as this vid clip of Miss Shirley Bassey, singing ballads of praise dedicated to that great warrior and walking Id, James Bond:

It all started about May of last year . . . Blog STORMBRINGER grew out of guidance from Theo Spark - enfant terrible of the Internet with his excellent Blog Last of the Few. Theo became Blogmeister of STORMBRINGER and continues to advise to this day. Hurrah! for Theo





I don't know how he does it. The guy is great, does great work, and I plan on linking up with him in the UK one of these days.

Here at Blog STORMBRINGER we like Great Britain and all things British (despite my Irish heritage - I'm not a nut or a revolutionary). Theo represents all that is good of the little island that is Great; he's possibly the best thing that came out of England since . . . Led Zeppelin?







STORMBRINGER is about philosophy . . . soldiering . . . honor . . . military history . . . theology . . . current affairs and global security (which is to say the current conflict against the Islamofascists) . . . we take it from Ancient Greece and Rome (with a little bit of the Old Testament thrown in there from a historic point of view) and bring it up to the Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist and the anti-Federalist Papers, the Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address . . . we tie in the struggles of a Free People against the Forces of Tyranny and Oppression . . . throughout the ages . . . and a tidbit here and there from my friends and associates serving overseas in the great Global War on Terror . . .

This is the correct time for me to thank my good friend David Frum for all the help & support he and his heroic editor Meghashyam Mali have shown me over the past year at his worthy site Frum Forum.
I also wish to offer a gracious "Thank You" to Dave's lovely wife Danielle, for having me as a guest at their home in DC. The Frum guest cottage is a wonderful enclave, from whence I've produced more than one memorable STORMBRINGER post, and Dani can knock together a meal, the best food you could possibly imagine . . .


I especially wish to thank David for the tolerance and patience he shows me; David Frum has taught me to understand that bit, when politicians speak of a colleague across the aisle; "We do not see eye-to-eye on politics, but he is a great friend, and a great human being." This is a Life's lesson of wisdom and understanding that no money can buy . . .


A special thanks also to my buddy, fellow Green Beret "Uncle Jimbo" over at Blackfive . . . the Blackfive Team are great, they do heroic work there against the Forces of Darkness . . .







I would be remiss if I did not mention the many emails I receive from readers, with much blog material, images and links - I thank you all; keep it coming and do not be discouraged if I don't post it right away. I save it all in a couple of special folders and now is the time for me to construct a queue. Like I said, I don't know how Theo does it; I simply do not have the bandwidth.


For now this Science Project will have to move to the back burner because I've got a sh*tload of 25-meter targets popping up like whack-a-mole - like I've told my friends and associates; in my professional life, I'm a sheepdog . . . and the wolves are always out there . . . circling in . . . waiting to make their move . . .
