THE ONE HUNDREDTH

STORMBRINGER is proud to announce that this endeavor, which started out in the spring of '08 as an unfocused rant based on military themes, honor, international security - a philosopher desperately in search of a philosophy - and remains so today, has just acquired the One Hundredth Follower.

What this means, I'm not sure, but it is taken as a compliment and a vote of confidence. I thank you all. Personally, I don't care for the tag 'follower' because I am not a cult leader - although I am a member of a cult. If I were in charge of the Blogger thingie the category to click would be called Team Members.

We were stuck at 97 for literally years then about a month ago picked up #98. Then yesterday we got over the hump and we're at 100. I suspect this has something to do with a gentleman I made acquaintance with yesterday via this blog:


Wirecutter and friend


Wirecutter is a man after my own heart - get this: first he gasses one of the long-haired, maggot-infested OWS 99%-ers (after the maggot had advanced on Wirecutter, and placed his hands on the door of Wirecutter's truck); then he goes ahead and chronicles the event in the pages of his most worthy blog Knuckledraggin my life away.

Wirecutter, I know you're out there. We haven't met - yet - and when we do I will make sure to keep my hands where you can see them and conduct myself in a calm, orderly manner. Because no good deed goes unpunished, let it be known to all & sundry that for your tremendous act of class you have been bestowed the title of Worthy Hero of the Culture Wars - you may click HERE to view your reward.

Former Governor of Minnesota, ex-Navy SEAL and former wrestling star Jesse Ventura has added another credential to his resume: professional Whiner and big time Media Cry Baby:

ST. PAUL, Minnesota — So upset by the dismissal of his airport security lawsuit that he threatened Friday to apply for dual citizenship so he can spend more time in his beloved Mexico — or run for president of what he labeled "the Fascist States of America."

If that is what you have to say about America, then I say to you: "Good riddance to bad rubbish!" - America isn't about you, Jesse. Never was and never will be. America is about "Ask not what your country can do for you, rather, ask what you can do for your country."

I didn't fly those planes into those buildings; in fact, I have dedicated my life to protecting America and the Free World against the guys who would kill each and every one of us, given half the chance. But I have to stand in line to get on planes, take my shoes off, dump my drink bottle and toothpaste and everything else along with all the rest of us. And I have had to do this even back when I was a green-suiter, and even now more than ever; security clearance, credentials and blue ID card notwithstanding.

Ventura alleges that airport scans and pat-downs amount to unreasonable search and seizure. A district judge threw out his lawsuit Thursday, ruling it should have been filed in a Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ventura has said a titanium hip implanted in him in 2008 sets off metal detectors and that agents previously used hand-held wands to scan his body. He said he was subjected to a body pat-down after an airport metal detector went off last November. Ventura said he hasn't flown since and won't fly commercially again.



You know what I say to that, Jessie? I say "Tough tittie, suck it up like the rest of us." What, a big, bad man like you can't handle being frisked in the name of national security? Is that all it takes for you to turn your back on your country? That's pretty lame, if you ask me.

You can't take the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen. This is the United States of America - it's a free country and oh by the way this country made you rich and famous, you hypocrite. If you don't like it here, the border's that-a-way. You can take all your whiner 99%-er OWS friends with you, and don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.

That's right, I'm talking to YOU Big Boy. You got something to say to my face, Jesse, you can find me. You can start by clicking on the link, over there to the right. OBAMA ADMINISTRATION OPPOSES FDR PRAYER AT WWII MEMORIAL



Republican lawmakers and conservative activists are expressing outrage after the Obama administration announced its objection to adding President Franklin Roosevelt's D-Day prayer to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The objection was noted during a congressional hearing on Rep. Bill Johnson's, R-Ohio, bill; the 'World War II Memorial Prayer Act of 2011':

"It is unconscionable that the Obama administration would stand in the way of honoring our nation's distinguished World War II veterans," Johnson said. "President Roosevelt's prayer gave solace, comfort and strength to our nation and our brave warriors as we fought against tyranny and oppression."

Roosevelt asked the nation to join him in prayer as U.S. and Allied forces launched the invasion that led to the defeat of Nazi Germany. He asked God to give the Allied troops courage and faith, saying, "With thy blessing we shall prevail over the unholy forces of our enemy."

My fellow Americans: Last night, when I spoke with you about the fall of Rome, I knew at that moment that troops of the United States and our allies were crossing the Channel in another and greater operation. It has come to pass with success thus far.

And so, in this poignant hour, I ask you to join with me in prayer:

Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity.

Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith.

DEAD HORSE THEORY



The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed on from generation to generation, says that, "When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount."

However, in Government and the public service sector, more advanced strategies are often employed, such as:

1. Buy a stronger whip.

2. Change riders.

3. Appoint a committee to study the horse.

4. Arrange to visit other countries to see how other cultures ride dead horses - politicians love this one.

5. Lower the standards so that dead horses can be included.

6. Reclassify the dead horse as living-impaired.

7. Hire outside contractors to ride the dead horse.

8. Harness several dead horses together to increase speed.

9. Provide additional funding and/or training to increase dead horse's performance.

10. Do a productivity study to see if lighter riders would improve the dead horse's performance.

11. Declare that, since the dead horse does not have to be fed, it is less costly, carries lower overhead and therefore contributes substantially more to the bottom line of the economy than do live horses.

12. Rewrite the expected performance requirements for all horses.

13. Promote the dead horse to a supervisory position.

THE MONTH OF HONOR

I always look forward to November - the month of Veterans Day, which used to be called Armistice Day, "The Eleventh Minute of the Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month," the coming of the cold weather, Turkey Day when I deep fry the birds, and football. I will concentrate on Veterans and military themes throughout this, the Eleventh Month ... - S.L.

Joseph Collins served in the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Army and has protected our country as a law enforcement officer for more than ten years. Raised as a pastor’s son, Joseph is a courageous man who loves his family and loves his God.
