MOVIE REVIEW: THE HURT LOCKER

I just watched the trailer for this film:

Oddly, I have NO desire to watch this movie. None, whatsoever.

  1. I saw the movie and didn't think much of it. It's about an adrenaline junkie who gets off on extreme danger. You are correct that most "war" movies suck. This is one of them.

  2. I watched it expecting your typical leftist anti-war propaganda. I was surprised to see that it wasn't AS antiwar as I expected. However overall the movie was completely pointless. No storyline, a series of disconnected scenes, several that seemed to be cut short. The entire character by actor David Morse (Colonel Reed)was pointless. He approaches the adrenaline junkie and acts like he's playing him up, only to chew him out for being a jackass and putting others at risk. But never does.. the scene cuts away completely incomplete and totally pointless. Just like the entire film. WHY is this critically aclaimed??

  3. Typical, like so many other Hollywood interpretations, not even close. Also like so many Hollywood war movies, I haven’t and won’t see it. I stopped justifying this type of politically and socially motivated attempt to reinterpret reality to form an altered perspective crap, long ago. In fact, there are very few movies I’ll go to.....jd

  4. Household 6 and i actually went out and saw this at the local theater.... which is a rare move in itself. the previous movie for that to occur was Gran Torino.

we liked it. it wasn't perfect, but except for the scene where they were drinking in the hooch and beating the crap out of each other, it was pretty good.

it certainly is better than all the other crap hollyweird has put out about Iraq and Afghanistan, which i realize is a low bar, but at least the GI's weren't all morons or murderers.... i recommend it.

  6. personally from my experiences in this matter, this movie is beyond FUBAR. (basically judging this from the one min. blurb i just watched) never in a million years would a car be allowed through moving at that speed through my cordoned area without receiving at least a half a can of .50 cal through the hood and then up the windshield if need be. i've heard a lot of bad reviews about this movie. From those reviews and this 60 seconds of retardedness, i think i'll pass.
