DESPERATELY BORED JIHADI HOUSEWIVEs

When I first heard the Jihad Jane story last week, I dismissed it; this was not a case of Self-Induced Jihad Syndrome Strikes Again, I thought. Rather, this is some strange aberration from the norm, a weird phenomena; I commented to a colleague that this is closer to the extremely rare female serial killer, that this bird had discovered a moral justification to become a killer.

Colleen "Jihad Jane" LaRose

Here she is looking cute & coquettish, trawling for dates on her Internet social networking site . . .

. . . when the burqa comes off she's PSYCHO BITCH FROM HELL ! ! !

Then bored blonde housewife #2 popped up:

I don't know about you, but this woman looks kind of scary to me, too . . . like some kind of a predatory, aging porn star . . . anyway her eyes are the wrong shape and besides, I go for brunettes . . .

According to my theory, Self-Induced Jihad Syndrome is not limited to disgruntled, angst-ridden offspring of successful immigrants from the Sand Countries, like this young man:

Even though he was not a Muslim, I maintain that Timothy McVeigh suffered a form of SIJS - an otherwise clean, upstanding individual with no criminal background; self-generated righteousness, America is the threat, etc, etc . . .

Now we see that SIJS isn't exclusive to young disenfranchised males:

Both of the Jihad Janes indoctrinated themselves, apparently, before seeking out recruiters and launching toward their missions. Blog STORMBRINGER has repeatedly stated that we are under attack and the enemy is already inside the gates. The next time you have to take your shoes off for the bored-to-death TSA workers at the airport security checkpoint, think about it. It’s not about swarthy, bearded hajji’s in turbans coming at us; the real threat is somebody who looks as American as Apple Pie – whether he or she is white, black, oriental or whatever – possibly with military training & experience. Just think of Timothy McVeigh – he was a decorated war hero. If this doesn’t blow the whole premise for racial profiling out of the water, what does?

SELF-INDUCED JIHAD SYNDROME STRIKES AGAIN

ANOTHER SELF-STARTER

Police Find Weapons After N.J. Arrest

Lloyd Woodson was apprehended after a convenience store clerk thought something was wrong with him (bulges under coat) and called the police.

Police found Woodson wearing a bullet proof vest; in his nearby motel room they found assault rifles, hundreds of rounds of .50 cal and .308 ammunition - fifty cal, people - a grenade launcher, night scope, map of a nearby military base, and a "Middle Eastern red and white colored traditional headdress" (keffya). The FBI are investigating a potential terrorism link.

Yesterday I stated: "You can't conduct a war like a law enforcement operation."

Scott Brown's pollsters said it was his criticism of the Christmas Underwear Bomber being given Miranda rights that gave Brown the surge that put him over the top.

It isn't just health care; the people get it.

MERRY XMAS - WE ARE STILL UNDER ATTACK

By now it's all over the media:

Man Attempts to Set Off Explosives on Detroit-Bound Airplane

The man said he was directed by al Qaeda to explode a small device in flight, over U.S. soil.

The device went off as Northwest Airlines Flight 253, an Airbus 330 carrying 278 passengers and operated by Delta, was arriving in Detroit from Amsterdam.

The suspect was identified as Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23, who according to federal documents is an engineering student at University College of London.

Federal law enforcement authorities are trying to determine the credibility of Abdulmutallab's story; i.e. IS he an Al Qaeda operative, or is this another episode of what I have coined 'Self-Induced Jihad Syndrome'?

Analysis:

Abdulmutallab certainly fits the 'Self-Induced Jihadi' profile - he is young, intelligent, educated, AND "inspired" - according to his entry visa he was flying from Nigeria to the United States for a "religious seminar".

The suspect had been in a law enforcement-intelligence database but was not on the government's no-fly list. According to a federal situational awareness bulletin: "The subject is claiming to have extremist affiliation and that the device was acquired in Yemen along with instructions as to when it should be used."

BRILLIANT - we have apparently returned to the pre-9/11 mindset. There's your Federal government taking care of you.

Technical Analysis:

I am a Special Forces engineer - I have extensive training and experience in what we refer to as 'field expedients'.

The suspect told authorities that he had explosive powder taped to his leg and used a syringe of chemicals to mix with the powder that was to cause explosion. This is of concern because it is a method of mixing that is consistent with terror techniques.

The trouble with this sort of improvised explosives is that they are not reliable, and are very difficult to initiate. Factors such as temperature, ambient pressure and relative humidity affect chemical reactions. A chemical mixture that may have initiated perfectly well in a hot, dry desert climate like Yemen obviously failed to produce results in a jetliner at altitude, thankfully.

The popular television show Mythbusters put these 'MacGyver'-type energetics to the test: in one episode, they tried to replicate how MacGyver once blew a man-sized hole in a wall with one gram of sodium reacting with water. The MythBusters placed sodium in a gel capsule, placed it in a bottle full of warm water, placed the bottle against a cinder block wall, and tamped it with sand. One gram of sodium was not powerful enough to damage the wall (or even the bottle it was in), and 100 grams of sodium was also not enough. The MythBusters then used 500 grams of more-reactive potassium placed inside a cannon-like contraption to direct all the force onto the wall, but still failed to cause any damage. The MythBusters finally resorted to using C4 high explosive to demolish the wall.

TRAITORS

American has had traitors in every war we've been in - this one is no different. - S.L.

The Americans being held in Pakistan on possible terrorism-related charges were arrested in a house linked to militants in an eastern Pakistani city; Sargodha is home to a major air force base and is a known pocket of militant insurgency. Pakistani police reports suggest they intended to get terrorist training there and join with the Taliban to fight against American troops in Afghanistan.

Waqar Hussain Khan, 22, was born in Virginia.

Ramy Zamzam, 22, was studying at Howard University to be a dentist — he maintained a 4.0 grade-point average.

Umar Farooq, an accounting student at George Mason University, was born in Sargodha.

Ahmed Minni, 20, was born in Virginia.

Aman Yemer, at 18 the youngest of the five, was born in California.

The young men grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. They had been friends for years. Some were in college now. Some had jobs. Some had Facebook pages filled with friends.

I know this town well. You couldn't find a more all-American city; Alexandria is closely related to the founding of our country. I have many friends throughout Fairfax County who I often visit during military-related business trips to the DC area. They are loyal readers and often contribute to STORMBRINGER -S.L.

Their families insist they never revealed a hint of extremism. Families and friends portray them as innocent, decent citizens. Neighbors used terms like "good guy" and "friendly" to describe the young men.

Facebook page disappeared from the Web:

Zamzam's bewildered Facebook friends set up a special page asking for help finding the missing students and praying for their safe return. Postings on the page earlier in the week said the Facebook friends were trying to raise awareness about the five men who "have been missing for some time now." By Friday 11 December, that Facebook page disappeared from the Web after the students turned up arrested in Pakistan on possible terrorist-related charges.

Not Trusted by the Taliban:

The group appeared to communicate online, and Pakistani investigators say they visited web sites that showed attacks against the U.S. military in Afghanistan. Those internet connections may have led them to Pakistan, where they reportedly met with representatives from the al-Qaida-linked Jaish-e-Mohammed militant group in the southeastern city of Hyderabad and from a related group, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, in Lahore. Pakistani officials say the men were also in contact with a Taliban recruiter.

But their efforts to join the jihadi fight were rebuffed, because they were not trusted.

Shock and Disbelief at Alexandria Mosque:

In northern Virginia, family friends, including fellow worshippers at the Islamic Circle of North America's small chapter mosque — a converted single-family home tucked into their residential neighborhood — can't believe what they're hearing about the students.

"They had jobs, they were in school. They were normal kids," said the families' lawyer, Nina Ginsberg.

Friends in Shock, Plead for Families' Privacy:

"I know they're very sad," said Dr. Essam Tellawi, a volunteer at the mosque who fills in sometimes as the imam. "It's very hard to hear about your son is missing."

Analysis:
We Are Under Attack.

We're seeing it over and over again; there's a common thread going on here: young men of Middle-Eastern origin, above average intelligence, born and/or raised in the West of immigrant families; in a case of confused loyalties decide to go to war against their own country:

Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan.

The 7/7 London Bombings of 2005

Glasgow Airport Terror Attack, June 2007.

This is a part of the phenomenon I have coined Self-Induced Jihad Syndrome.
