INDEPENDENCE DAY SALUTATIONS

Happy 4th of July everyone . . . God Bless the United States of America!

"A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of Government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague."

- Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman philosopher, statesman, lawyer, orator, political theorist, Roman consul and constitutionalist.

  1. This month’s issue of 1851 magazine is dedicated to veterans! In our feature story, we have compiled a comprehensive list of the top 100 Veteran friendly franchises! We understand how important it is to support the armed forces when they return home specifically providing them with opportunities for success in life outside of the service. We know our veterans have been equipped with the qualities that are essential to lead a successful business. You can check out the article here: http://bit.ly/100-40 on 1851project.com! We’ve currently released 60 of the franchises; make sure to check back throughout the month to view the entire list! Furthermore we have compiled an extensive array of articles, interviews, and profiles that deal directly with veterans in franchising, veterans looking to get into franchising, and franchising resources for veterans. In honor of the holiday, we wanted to show our patriotism and gratitude for those who have and are serving our country.

  2. NOTE TO READERS: Normally I would delete the above comment because I don't appreciate operations that flaut patriotism to market their services BUT I investigated the link - http://bit.ly/100-40 - and it follows a sentiment that I heartily endorse: personal success through private enterprise.

There is no easy way out of the current economic downslump we are in and working for wages never made anyone rich. The wars are winding down (for now) and there aren't enough wage-paying jobs to go around anyhow. Can't think of a better time to get into business than right now when we are at the bottom looking up.

    Bon Chance,
    S.L.
