LOST IN THE MAIL, Continued . . .

It's happening again - this time (not surprisingly) in the Democrat-owned and -operated Great State of Illinois:

Military Ballots May Not Count in Illinois

CHICAGO (WLS) - The U.S. Justice Department is investigating whether the state of Illinois missed the deadline for mailing absentee ballots to members of the military and other overseas American voters as part of a new federal overseas voting law.

Cris Cray, Director of Legislation at the Illinois State Board of Elections, says not all of Illinois' 110 jurisdictions were compliant with the 2009 Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (MOVE).

The law requires every state to mail their absentee ballots 45 days prior to Election Day to overseas troops, government employees and other Americans who want to vote from abroad.

I love it; Democrats investigating Democrats. Who's going to be punished for this? Nobody, nada . . . it's the perfect crime.

How is this news? Democrats have to cheat to win.

THE PRESIDENT IS LOSING IT

WHITE HOUSE INSIDER ON OBAMA

A charter member of Team STORMBRINGER sent this in . . . I tried to find the source, found it; tried to find the author - did not find . . . therefore I share with you this fascinating piece in it's entirety . . . S.L.

A longtime Washington D.C. insider, and former advisor to the Obama election campaign and transition team, speaks out on an administration in crisis, and a president increasingly withdrawn from the job of President.

2008 gave America an incredibly charismatic candidate for President of the United States. Speech after speech showed a candidate with increasing momentum as primary race after primary race concluded. And then came the nomination, more speeches, culminating in an election night victory.

According to the person sitting across from me, those were incredibly exciting times, even for one who had been a participant with three previous presidential hopefuls. Barack Obama appeared to move from one city to the next effortlessly, gaining confidence and motivation with each campaign stop. He was remarkable to watch.

He took the script, elevated it with his oration, left the crowds screaming for more, and then would do it all over again, time after time after time. On the campaign trail, Obama is a machine.

When I asked this insider if the media gave candidate Obama an assist throughout his campaign, it elicits a sly smile.

Sure – we definitely had people in the media on our side. Absolutely. We went so far as to give them specific ideas for coverage. The ones who took that advice from the campaign were granted better access, and Obama was the biggest story in 2008, so yeah, that gave us a lot of leverage.

Could Obama have succeeded without the media’s help?

Yeah, I think so. As I said, on the campaign trail he is very-very good. The opposition didn’t have near the energy, or the celebrity attraction that Obama brings. Plus, the country was burned out after eight years of Bush. We knew that going in. We knew that if we won the Democrat nomination, we were likely going to cruise our way to the White House – and that is exactly what we did.”

But after Obama was sworn in, things began to change?

Almost immediately. Obama loved to campaign. He clearly didn’t like the work of being President though, and that attitude was felt by the entire White House staff within weeks after the inauguration. Obama the tireless, hard working candidate became a very tepid personality to us. And the few news stories that did come out against him were the only things he seemed to care about. He absolutely obsesses over Fox News. For being so successful, Barack Obama is incredibly thin-skinned. He takes everything very personally.

And you state he despises Joe Biden?

Oh yeah. That is very well known in the White House. Obama chose Biden for one reason – to have an older white guy with some international policy credentials. Period. If Biden has all of this international experience that Obama found so valuable, why has he buried him under the pile of crap that became the stimulus bill? What does Joe Biden know about budgets and economics? Not much – but Obama didn’t care. Give Joe a job and get him the hell out of my hair – that pretty much sums up the president’s feelings toward Joe Biden.

What about Hillary Clinton?

Obama is scared to death of Hillary. He doesn’t trust her – obsesses over her almost as much as he does Fox News. He respects her though, which might be why he fears her so much as well. He talks the game, but when it comes down to it, she has played the game on a far tougher level than he has, and Obama knows that.

How about Bill Clinton?

I never heard Obama say anything about Bill Clinton personally, though I was told he has cracked a few jokes about the former president since getting into the White House. I have heard that Bill Clinton does not like Barack Obama. That really started when Obama played the race card against him during the primary campaign. Apparently Clinton was apoplectic over that and still hasn’t gotten over it. If there is one thing I have learned in this town – don’t make an enemy of Bill Clinton.

So if Obama doesn’t appear interested in the job of president, what does he do day after day?

Well, he takes his meetings just like any other president would, though even then, he seems to lack a certain focus and on a few occasions, actually leaves with the directive that be given a summary of the meeting at a later date. I hear he plays a lot of golf, and watches a lot of television – ESPN mainly. I’ll tell you this – if you want to see President Obama get excited about a conversation, turn it to sports. That gets him interested. You start talking about Congress, or some policy, and he just kinda turns off. It’s really very strange. I mean, we were all led to believe that this guy was some kind of intellectual giant, right? Ivy League and all that. Well, that is not what I saw. Barack Obama doesn’t have a whole lot of intellectual curiosity. When he is off script, he is what I call a real “slow talker”. Lots of ummms, and lots of time in between answers where you can almost see the little wheel in his head turning very slowly. I am not going to say the president is a dumb man, because he is not, but yeah, there was a definite letdown when you actually hear him talking without the script.

That sounds like you are calling Obama stupid to me.

No – I am not going to call him stupid. He just doesn’t strike me as particularly smart. Bill Clinton is a smart guy – he would run intellectual circles around Barack Obama. And Bill Clinton loved the politics of being president. Obama seems to think he shouldn’t have to be bothered, which has created a considerable amount of conflict among his staff.

So how bad are things at the White House these days?

I don’t know about right now, because I have not been there in over a month. But I still hear things, and I know what it was like when I left. It’s not good. As bad as it might look to voters based on what they do know, it’s much worse. The infighting is off the charts. You got a Chief of Staff who despises cabinet members, advisors who despise the Chief of Staff, a President and First Lady having their own issues . . .

Come again – what about the First Lady? (The insider takes a deep breath)

Ok, look, just like any other marriage, folks have issues. The Obamas are no different, except of course they are very high profile. I was told they were having issues before the campaign, and they have even more issues now. Maybe that is why Obama seems so detached – not so much the stress of the White House, but the stress of personal issues. I can certainly relate to that kind of situation.

Care to clarify some more on the Obama marriage?

No. That is all I will say about that. Don’t ask again.

Ok, back to President Obama then. In just a few words, how would you describe him these days?

Like I said, it’s been a while since I was last at the White House, but I don’t have a problem saying that the president is losing it. I don’t mean he is like losing his mind. I mean to say that he is losing whatever spark he had during the campaign. When you take away the crowds, Obama gets noticeably smaller. He shrinks up inside of himself. He just doesn’t seem to have the confidence to do the job of President, and it’s getting worse and worse. Case in point – just a few days before I left, I saw first hand the President of the United States yelling at a member of his staff. He was yelling like a spoiled child. And then he pouted for several moments after. I wish I was kidding, or exaggerating, but I am not. The President of the United States threw a temper tantrum. The jobs reports are always setting him off, and he is getting increasingly conspiratorial over the unemployment numbers. I never heard it myself, but was told that Obama thinks the banking system is out to get him now. That they and the big industries are making him pay for trying to regulate them more. That is the frame of mind the President is in these days. And you know what? Maybe he is right, who knows?

Will Obama run again in 2012?

I don’t know. That subject was never brought up again after 2008, at least not around me. If he does, I think it would have more to do with allowing him another year and a half of campaigning again. He just loves it so much. He really needs the crowds, the cheering, the support of the people.

Can he win in 2012?

Oh – absolutely. Who else campaigns as well as Barack Obama? Nobody. What politician is more loved and supported by the media? Nobody. I don’t see the Republicans offering up a candidate as powerful as Obama. I mean, Sarah Palin? Really? Obama would defeat her by a 20 point landslide! Romney? The Republicans will enjoy these midterm elections, but 2012 is Obama’s year if he chooses to run again. As a president, Obama has many flaws, but as a candidate, he is near flawless.

But would another four years of an Obama presidency be the best thing for America?

(Long pause) Now that is a much more interesting question right there, and a question I think more and more Democrat Party insiders are asking themselves these days, myself included. I am going to come right out and say it – No. Obama is not up to the job of being president. He simply doesn’t seem to care about the work involved. You want to know what? Obama is lazy. He really is. And it is getting worse and worse. Would another four years of Obama be the best thing for America ? No it would not. What this country needs is a president who is focused on the job more than on themselves. Obama is not that individual. I actually hope he doesn’t run again. Looking back, as much fun as the campaign in 2008 was, Hillary Clinton should have been the nominee. Hillary was ready to be president. Obama was not ready. He had never lost a campaign. Everything was handed to him. He doesn’t really understand the idea of work – real, hard, get your heart and soul into it work. And frankly, that is very disappointing to a whole lot of us . . .

STATE-SPONSORED TERRORISM, AMERICAN-STYLE

“Waving signs denouncing bank “greed,” hordes of invaders poured out of 14 school buses, up Baer’s steps, and onto his front porch. As bullhorns rattled with stories of debtor calls and foreclosed homes, Baer’s teenage son Jack — alone in the house — locked himself in the bathroom. “When are they going to leave?” Jack pleaded when I called to check on him.

Baer, on his way home from a Little League game, parked his car around the corner, called the police, and made a quick calculation to leave his younger son behind while he tried to rescue his increasingly distressed teen. He made his way through a din of barked demands and insults from the activists who proudly “outed” him, and slipped through his front door.

“Excuse me,” Baer told his accusers, “I need to get into the house. I have a child who is alone in there and frightened.”

Imagine what you would have done if your child were inside that house and that mob was on your front lawn as you tried to reach him.

UPDATE: Video has since been removed from YouTube . . .

. . . but you can see it
HERE.

I urge you to look at it . . . it is remarkable.

. . . the folks at SEIU may be a bit confused – first they storm private property and intimidate a teenage child, then they go after only seemingly Republican targets. Only, this one in particular – definitely NOT a Republican:

"A lifelong Democrat, Baer worked for the Clinton Treasury Department, and his wife, Shirley Sagawa, author of the book The American Way to Change and a former adviser to Hillary Clinton, is a prominent national service advocate."

Shamelessly Orchestrated Mob Scene

When mobs of goons and thugs trespass onto the private residential property of a private citizen and intimidate their children, and the police refuse to take action, no one should act surprised if a citizen acts to defend his property and his family from the lawless hordes…but, perhaps, that may be what the SEIU, the NPA, and their ilk want.

FALSE ACCUSATIONS ON THE TEA PARTY

Last week on the eve of the historic coup in the House, I posted DO NOT BREAK THE WINDOWS in response to some radical thought patterns being expressed out there on the right-wing blogosphere. I followed up urging calm & restraint.

True to form, all this past week the Mainstream Media has been repeating the story of racist and anti-homosexual catcalls & slurs yelled at Democrat Congressmen last Sunday, as they walked past crowds of Tea Partiers:

“Tea Party” protesters allegedly hurled racial slurs at Congressional Black Caucus member Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat. Mr. Carson said that "hundreds of people" were chanting, "Kill the bill," and he heard "at least 15 times" the "n – word" being thrown around.

I have a problem with this misconduct - particularly since nobody can produce any proof that any of this ever took place. I’m not from Missouri but I say it anyhow: "SHOW ME."

The videos above and below were taken as Mr. Lewis and Mr. Carson walked toward a crowd of protesters, and racial epithets from the crowd appear to be absent from the different scenes captured.

A U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman said she was unaware of any law enforcement inquiry into the incidents.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II, Missouri Democrat, who is black, claimed he was spat on by a protester. Mr. Cleaver's office reportedly said Capitol Police arrested the protester, but his office did not press charges. However, Sgt. Kimberly Schneider of the U.S. Capitol Police said in an e-mail to the L.A. Times, "We did not make any arrests today."

This is a classic case of Goebbell’s Primary Law of Propaganda:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

SOMEBODY has been throwing bricks through windows this past week. I’m willing to bet when the dust settles we’ll find some kind of Liberal Dirty Tricks Squad has something to do with this. When Rahm Emanuel saw those idiotic blog postings calling for bricks to be thrown through windows, you know he thought right away: “WOAH – this one is right out of Saul Alinsky's playbook."

I can just see Ol' Dead Fish Emanuel sliding over to Bill Ayers and saying, "Hey Bill, how about getting some of Bernadine’s anarchist trolls to toss a few bricks?”

I often wonder what readers of my blog think of the relationship between conservative-Tea-Partier-pro-Sarah-Pahlin STORMBRINGER and moderate FrumForum? It’s about engagement; I don't always agree with David Frum but he represents votes - and the way to win elections by including people, not shutting them out.

American elections are won not by the solid block of registered party members on either side of the spectrum, but rather by the great big sector in the middle; Joe Six Pack is middle class, working class, often a union member or black who votes Republican but would never admit it in the light of day for fear of reprisal from their own kind.

In 1980 Ronald Reagan won a landslide on the Democratic vote. These were the same “Reagan Democrats” who gave us Republican victories throughout the eighties, nineties and up until 2006, when the endless stream of left wing propaganda that constantly spews out of the so-called ‘Mainstream Media’ finally turned the electorate.

The Democrats didn’t win in ’06 and ’08 because of any new ideas; they won because they successfully masked their identities and their agenda. The masks are off at last and the American people do not like what they see.

There WAS bipartisanship in the healthcare debacle, by the way; it was on the side of the people who were against it. 34 House Democrats who voted WITH the Republicans; AGAINST the healthcare monstrosity which passed by the squeakiest of margins and only AFTER a LOT of bribery and Chicago thug strongarm tactics.

Right now common wisdom is that a lot of Reagan Democrats are going to vote Republican in the Federal Elections this November and again in 2012, and the Democrats are going to experience their greatest upset since the Republicans took Congress in ’94. We’ve already seen the Chicago Way conducted right before our very eyes in Congress; you can bet your bottom dollar “Dead Fish” Emmanuel is going to be pulling some stunts that make the nude shower confrontation look like a visit from the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

THIS IS NOT WATERLOO

Lady Butler's British Squares holding at Quatre Bras

I am referring to yesterday's passage of the 'Healthcare Reform' Bill in the United States House of Representatives, of course. Of course - this Bill has nothing to do with Healthcare, or Reform of any kind. Nor is it a decisive victory for the side that prevailed in this legislative effort - the Democratic Party.

Queen Nancy Signing the Democratic Party's Suicide Pact

The Battle of Waterloo was the utter rout and total destruction of Napoleon's Imperial French army by the combined armies of the Seventh Coalition; the Anglo-Allied army under the command of the Duke of Wellington, and the Prussian army under the command of Gebhard von Blücher; fought on Sunday 18 June 1815 near Waterloo in what is now Belgium.

Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo put an end of his Hundred Days' return from exile and marked the end to his rule as Emperor of the French.

End of the Line for le Empereur

Yesterday's events in the House of Representatives was far from such a decisive victory. Au contraire - the Leadership of the Democratic Party had to resort to bribery, blackmail and good old-fashioned strongarm tactics to accomplish their purpose. By now everyone is familiar with the year-long saga - the Louisiana Purchase; the Nebraska Buy-off Exemption; the infamous Rahm Emmanuel Nude Shower Incident; Bart Stupak's little shuck-and-jive two step there . . . this is what it took for the Democratic Party to pull off their so-called 'decisive victory' - hardly an overwhelming 'Will of the People' . . .

. . . AND . . . the Republican Party is FAR from destroyed!

The Republicans have the power and support to defeat these bastards in November. We will wipe them out. We will chase them out of town. We will elect conservatives in the primaries and defeat the Democrats - every last one of them - and then we start the repeal process.

We have much power, still. We will use every single legislative and bureaucratic tactic to obstruct, derail, and defeat them. We're going to turn out en masse in November and stop the Liberals. We have seen that the law will not stop them, the Constitution will not stop them, hoping that they will do the right thing will not stop them because their definition of "the right thing" has nothing in common with ours.

They will be hounded out of office. Every single Democrat who voted for this knows that they are going to be exposed and hassled and chased from office.

No, this is by no means a victory for the Democrats along the lines of Wellington's victory at Waterloo. For it to be such, the Republicans would have had to have been utterly destroyed. If anything, this is a 'Pyrrhic Victory'.

The phrase is named after King Pyrrhus of Epirus, whose army suffered irreplaceable casualties in defeating the Romans at Heraclea in 280 BC and Asculum in 279 BC:

Roman Legionnaires in close combat.

In both of engagements, the Romans had more casualties than Pyrrhus did. However, the Romans had a much larger supply of men from which to draw soldiers, so their casualties did less damage to their war effort than Pyrrhus's casualties did to his.

Pyrrhus' battle report: "Another such victory and I come back to Epirus alone."

There is a North American equivalent of such a Pyrrhic victory: on March 15, 1781 the Battle of Guilford Courthouse was fought in present-day Greensboro, North Carolina. 1,900 British troops under General Lord Cornwallis, fought an American force of 4,400 under General Nathanael Greene.

The Battle of Guilford Courthouse

Despite the relatively small numbers of troops involved, the battle is considered decisive. Before the battle, the British appeared to have successfully reconquered Georgia and South Carolina with the aid of strong Loyalist factions, and thought that North Carolina might be within their grasp.

The battle had lasted only ninety minutes; the British took the field, fighting with accustomed tenacity when engaged by superior numbers. Technically and tactically the British were the victors of this contest. However, their victory cost them over a quarter of their own men.

Seeing this as a classic Pyrrhic victory, British Whig Party leader Charles James Fox echoed Plutarch's famous words by saying, "Another such victory would ruin the British Army!

In the wake of the battle, Cornwallis retreated via forced march south (through present day Fort Bragg) to Wilmington, where his forces embarked upon ships to Yorktown, Virginia and ultimate defeat and surrender.

Surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown

Waterloo was a decisive battle in more than one sense. It definitively ended the series of wars that had convulsed Europe, and involved many other regions of the world, since the French Revolution of the early 1790s. It also ended the political and military career of Napoleon Bonaparte, one of the greatest commanders and statesmen in history. Finally, it ushered in almost half a century of international peace in Europe; no major conflict was to occur until the Crimean War.

Barack Obama and every Democrat in Congress could only wish of such a victory - they know they will pay a heavy price for yesterday's events.

We are not defeated. Not by a long shot.

545 vs. 300,000,000

I am not a politician, I am a soldier and a philosopher; normally Blog STORMBRINGER avoids the subject of politics because it generates dark energy. That being said, the following is not really politics, although it IS political in nature. It was written by journalist Charlie Reece out of Orlando, Florida, forwarded to me by my old friend & mentor the Deacon of Doom, but it reads like something out of Plato's Republic.
- Sean Linnane

"Every Citizen needs to read this and think about what this journalist has scripted. Read it and then really think about our current political debacle."

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years.

545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the Speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted - by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in Iraq, it's because they want them in Iraq.

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy", "inflation", or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!
