KORAN BURNING - IN IRAN
(Washington Times) — Two anonymous young men in Iran, one Iranian and one Afghan, have burned a Koran in protest. This seven-and-a-half minute long video shows the two men, their faces obscured, holding the Muslim holy book and reading prepared statements. They say that Arabs have foisted this book and their homelands and because of it they have gone backwards for 1400 years. They say they dislike the Koran and want it to disappear, adding “Viva freedom!”
Afterwards they stand the Koran on a flat rock, douse it alcohol and light it. One of them hoots and laughs. The book burns fiercely, and after a few moments one of them sprays more alcohol into the flames. The video ends with them warming their hands over the blazing book.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey car dealer plans to keep his word after offering Florida pastor Terry Jones a new car if he promised to not burn a Quran.
Car dealer Brad Benson made the offer in one of his dealership's quirky radio ads, which focus more on current events than cars. But he was surprised when a representative for Jones called to collect the 2011 Hyundai Accent, which retails for $14,200.
"They said unless I was doing false advertising, they would like to arrange to pick up the car," Benson recalled. At first he thought it was a hoax, so Benson asked Jones to send in a copy of his driver's license. He did.

The reason why burning the Koran, and attacking the Muslim religion in general is a bad idea is twofold. First of all, freedom-loving people do not burn books; Nazis do that:

The Crusades were an unmitigated military disaster that went on for the better part of three hundred years. The Crusades were a result of the cultural madness and insanity that was medieval Europe; and more Christians and Jews were killed by Crusaders than Muslims - in fact, the Muslims WON the Crusades - NOT an era of history to be emulated, by any means.
I say this, as a Christian, as an enlightened, civilized person, and as a professional soldier who has seen three religious wars, for what they really are: Northern Ireland, former Yugoslavia, and Israel. If we succumb to the seductive temptation to revert to a religious war, then two things will happen:
A) We will have just played right into THIS guy's hands:
and B) he will have just won . . .

Islam is the world's second largest religion after Christianity. According to a 2009 demographic study, Islam has 1.57 billion adherents, making up 23% of the world population:
We can't fight them all.
This is why an all-out religious war plays right into the terrorist enemy's hands. This is EXACTLY what they want. The objective of the Islamic Fundamentalist's worldwide terror campaign is nothing less than ARMEGEDDON.
A better alternative is that we continue to conduct ourselves as open-minded, rational people of logic and compassion; and that the moderate Muslims continue to side with us - think: "Divide and Conquer" - and that ultimately these Muslims become Christians. As fantastic a concept as this may seem, it is well within the realm of possibility, and in fact may already be taking place.

Ok now thw world is protesting the Koran burnning in florida this weekend. (basicly the muslims are threathing to attack because they dont want the holy book burned) so my question is why are we trrying to kiss these peoples asses anyway. point is that they can burn flags and bibles with out anyone doing a thing or making the national news. they can kill christian relief workers in the name of allah. the cartoons with jesus are ok but not with allah. ( for the record jesus is a regular on the family guy cartoon nobody is killing people fro that) we cant pray in schools or say the pledge to the flag, and now we cant display the flag because they dont want people to be offended by that. (school told a kid he could not come to school with the american flag on his truck because they said it offend some of the non american students. at what point did this country forget that the first folks came here to get away from religious persacution. now we have to kiss muslim ass world wide. (ever occur to these people that this religion was not a good thing 2000 years ago and still it not a good thing now. its like a group of people that want to take over the world and live like king as in egypt 2000 or more years ago) these people promote discrimation and slavery yet the aflcio will defend them to the hilt. this a one way street to nothing they have there way we will be living in mud huts growing poppies and pot for these religous leaders. i am still trying to figure out why we are kissing ass to a bunch of camel jockeys that like porn, incest, petafiles, and child molesters and make it ok according to their religion. why is it right for a man to do what he wants but if a woman talks to a strange man she is killed to keep the families honor. they say no drugs or anything like that but there is more shooting up and drug use by the holly warriors. seems to me according to history that warriors were held to a higher ethical standard than the people the fought for. ( seems they have also change things in their book that says they dont have to do anything but what the clecric says and anything goes.) this whole trend is not a good thing and some body needs to have the balls to step up to these people and show them the path to the real spirit world. muslims have oppressed and destroyed countries and cities to fit their rule the world need. it almost a real bad batman vs the joker movie wounder if the joker wins this time. i always thought that heaven and god was a paradise and happy thing for people ( at least for those that need that hope to belive in to make their life better) looks like its hell according to what the muslims are showing us on the world stage.

The rise of fundamentalist Islam and Jihad-inspired terrorist activities have stirred fear in the hearts of many. To be sure, it is real and prevalent, but grass root stories, little snippets here and there in the news, are proposing something that many find astonishing.
The word is that in spite of harsh persecution, little evangelism or access to Bibles and information, Muslims are converting to Christianity. Amazingly, it is often that these conversions are due to dreams, visions and healings. Because of Scripture and Koranic accounts of God reaching out to people in dreams and visions, many Muslims view dreams and visions as credible links between the seen and unseen world.
It’s hard to find statistical evidence. Because most of this is taking place in countries where the penalty for conversion is death, people are converting and worshiping in secret. Besides personal testimonies published on the internet (on websites and YouTube) or books written once converts have left their country, reports are coming from Muslim clerics and Imams, people who are a part of the infrastructure of Islam.
In 1993 Saudi Sheikh Salman Al-Odeh said Muslims were converting to Christianity in Africa in great numbers. In December of 2001 Saudi cleric Sheikh Ahmad Al Qataani stated in a live interview on Aljazeera satellite television that Muslims were converting to Christianity at the rate of 667 per hour or 16,000 per day. In April 2004, Iranian Shi’ite cleric Hasan Mohmaadi said there are 50 young boys and girls converting to Christianity every hour.
Among the countries where this is happening are Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Pakistan.
Interesting times indeed.
