WASP SPRAY

Even if you own a gun, here is something to think about . . .

I always like to have alternatives when it comes to wrecking someone's evil plans. I pack heat - but think about it; do you really want to drop somebody, have a body lying around the place, and then have to deal with the authorities, answer a lot of stupid questions?

Well, here's an alterative I never really thought about. I guess I can get rid of the baseball bat.

WASP SPRAY

A receptionist at a church in a high risk area was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended that she get a can of wasp spray instead.

Wasp spray can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to you and could overpower you. Wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. Thought this was interesting and might be of use.

Snopes is fifty-fifty on this one - also, be advised: wasp spray will most probably not kill an assailant, but it can potentially leave permanent damage to the central nervous system - a liability risk. Sigh! I guess it's back to packing heat . . . S.L.

  1. Wasp spray for self defense is a bad idea. It is a myth! Stick with the Pepper Spray. Wasp spray is unproven and has never been tested on humans. Wasp Spray will NOT work on those who cannot feel pain i.e. drugs or alcohol. Pepper Spray is an inflammatory which will cause the eyes to slam shut no matter the situation. That’s why over 40,000 law enforcement agencies carry it nationwide and even the smallest canisters will fire 10 ft while the larger canisters will fire 25 to 30 ft.

  2. A small dry powder extinguisher works well for those who are forbidden to own real defensive tools. A kilo of bicarb in the face does not help with breathing or seeing...
