German-Speaking Militants Came From Same Hamburg Mosque As 9/11 Hijackers
Threats are measured by intend and capability. Al-Qaeda continues to hope to inflict mass-casualty attacks in the United States and the rest of the Western World, especially Europe.
Al-Qaeda leaders have said since 9/11 that the U.S. is owed millions of deaths because of its supposed crimes against Islam. However, the group's capablities to implement such large-scale attacks are currently far less formidable than they were nine years ago or at any time since.
