CONSTANT DRUMBEAT OF INSANITY CONTINUES

The continual assault on our culture continues. If I had time, I would document the many ways the destructive, anti-Western Civilization forces within our society have attacked all that is good and decent. The inversion of our morals and values has become an almost daily occurrence. This time the very method we honor our heroes is cheapened, made meaningless:

”A three-year-old federal law that makes it a crime to falsely claim to have received a medal from the U.S. military is unconstitutional, an appeals court panel in California ruled Tuesday.”

“A panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with him in a 2-1 decision Tuesday, agreeing that the law was a violation of his free-speech rights. The majority said there's no evidence that such lies harm anybody, and there's no compelling reason for the government to ban such lies.”

August 17, 2010 SAN FRANCISCO - A federal law making it a crime to lie about receiving the Medal of Honor or other military decorations violates freedom of speech, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday.

You know, they're absolutely right. All a military decoration is, is a little piece of tin or brass, with a bit of silken ribbon around it - these things are ultimately meaningless.

Unless you attach meaning to them, of course. Stolen Valor is about giving meaning to the symbols we drape upon those who have bled on our behalf, those who came back in bits and pieces, and those can no longer defend themselves; the Honorable Dead.

During the course of my career I had the dubious pleasure of personally busting out two phony wannabe's - shamed the shit out of these kids and tossed them out of Special Forces training. I've seen too many good men die in that uniform, seen too many families suffer the consequences of such sacrifice, to tolerate fake heroes.

But now the Bozo's of the Ninth Circus Court of Appeals have determined that this is OK. They have stripped honor from the real heroes, and their families, on behalf of the fake, phony wannabe's who mock our heroes by portraying themselves as something that they are not.

Have we gotten to the point where nothing has any meaning any more? If not, at what point will we get there?

Burning an American flag - that's okay, that's Freedom of Speech. Erecting an al Qaeda Victory Monument on Ground Zero - that's good too, that's Freedom of Religion - in the meantime, try to get a copy of the Ten Commandments into a U.S. Courthouse, or a nativity scene on a church lawn and see what happens next. Two boys holding hands and getting married - that's good, that's Freedom of whatever-it-is.

Hordes of undocumented foreigners to stream across the borders and infest our land - and the same crowd that is against all that is good and decent in our society goes out to demonize and punish those who wish to take action, those who suffer at the hands of these hordes. Let these non-Americans wave Mexican Flags and dance and sing in the hallways of our schools on Cinco de Mayo - a non-holiday invented by Adolf Coors Brewing Company to sell beer - that's OK too; but dare not to wear an American flag on your t-shirt or to defend the American flag on this High Holy Day of Mexican Meaninglessness - "we cannot have this, no, no, no, no, NO!"

My only question is how come nobody ever tries to burn an American Flag whenever I'm around?

Thanks to Jason, Thomas H., and of course Theo, who each sent info on this sad state of affairs, to me.

  1. I guess it is now permissible to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater.
We all should demand that the Republicans make impeachment of activist judges included in their platform.

  3. I remember those kids! gotta say, they deserved a lot worse than what they got in my opinion... What i don't understand is that it is illegal to impersonate a police officer, but to impersonate a soldier and wear awards never received is perfectly acceptable? at this rate we're one short second away from people walking into crowded emergency rooms and impersonating doctors, i mean for real, i have a pair of scrubs, all i gotta do is walk in, pick up a clip board and sound clever. Where is the line drawn?

  4. There are the laws of the courts and the law of the land. And there are higher laws, moral laws that clearly define Right and Wrong.

I am under Obligation to uphold moral laws; the rest is at my discretion.

Take due notice, and govern yourselves accordingly.

  5. The fight for freedom is fought on many fronts. One battle is not the end of the war. One war is not the end of all wars. One man's hero is another man's villain. In California it's ok to smoke pot but in the United States it is not. The state of Florida says I can carry a concealed weapon and shoot someone in self defense, but my city does not allow the discharge of firearms in the city limits. So if I shoot a terrorist it's ok to kill him (or her) but the gun will be confiscated if I do it in the city limits. And I will probably be sued by the family and they will probably win. There will never be a perfect world, but there can be rational thinking. Chaos is a part of life. How you deal with it is what separates the normal from crazy.

  6. Sorry, but the court is right.

There's no Constitutional basis for the Stolen Valor act as it was passed. If it included only criminalization of active fraud, it'd be defensible (as fraud is typically already illegal).

But the SVA as it stands (stood, in that district) prevents people from wearing costumes in movies or to a party (including in absolutely respectful ways, or a kid from wearing his grandfather's uniform, for instance.

It is unconstitutionally overbroad - and if it covered only "disrespect", it'd be unconstitutionally viewpoint-based.

Remember that the right to free speech includes the right to be a gigantic jerk - and that every soldier that fought for our nation fought for those rights, no matter how the jerk chooses to use them.

Steve: A police officer has powers that "a soldier" doesn't. It's not about respect, making impersonating a cop illegal - it's about people using the authority of the police for unlawful/unauthorized ends.

  7. I whole heartedly disagree. It’s going to be hard for me to put into words how much I disagree, but I will try. Adolf Coors did NOT create Cinco de Mayo. That honor goes to a group of “south-of-the-border” folk that were living north of the border and needed a holiday of their own. It’s the day Mexican troops beat the French (at last count it’s World 84-French 0, or something like that). Plus Cinco de Mayo isn’t really celebrated in Mexico itself. They could really care less. If we must blame Cinco on a beer guy/company, let’s blame it on Adolphus Bush. He’s the one that stole the name “Budweiser” from Budweiser Budvar, a nectar of the gods that beats “Bud” hands down 25 hours a day, eight days a week!

And while I’m ranting on the whole beer thing, it is my opinion that, the most interesting guy on the planet is NOT in illegal alien. I know, I know!! What does American beer and sex in a boat have in common? I know! But really? Dos Equis? He might as well be pitching for Corona (which might as well be an American beer)!!

Speaking of expired work visas, what the hell is up with the bing commercial that doesn’t have a lick of English in it? Why is it being aired this side of the border while Arizona is being sued by the federal government for SB1070 and South Carolina is about to enact a tougher law than Arizona’s? What marketing genius, in the midst of the American southwest being overrun, said, “Hey guys, let’s make an all Spanish commercial!!!”? Don’t they read the news? Don’t they know tensions are running a little high right now? The NRA has the same “tension” problem right now with its members because they, the NRA, are thinking about endorsing Harry Reid (I speculate due to the fact that Sen. Reid donated a bunch of land to the NRA for a shooting range, tit-for-tat maybe?). I have my member resignation letter already written out to Mr. LaPierre asking for my dues back!

PS. The rest of the posted article is spot on!!

  8. Dammnit...

Let's do this...let's pass a law where it's legal to beat the sh*t out of anyone who claims a medal and doesn't have it.

We should not surrender on this..At least we should be able to kick him in the..."Nuts".

  9. Sigivald - Going back to CPT Fatass, to put on a uniform and portray a Special Forces soldier, your not only portraying a soldier, your portraying a United States Ambassador and Advisor, an instructor of foreign military's, an instructor of the US military, and a Government Official. While a police officer has certain powers here on American soil, so does a Soldier and certainly a Special Forces Soldier, both stateside as well as world wide. And obviously with CPT Fatass he abused powers by directing emergency personnel during a crisis.
While this is not the same as claiming to have earned a medal and never even serving in the military, but to actually wear the medal on a uniform and claiming to have served is a different story.

Snowman, i like that idea, i think we should add tar and feather as well.
